In anticipation of their UFC 111 main-event fight, UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and challenger Dan Hardy will be featured in Spike TV's three-part "UFC Primetime" special.

The series debuts Wednesday, March 10, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Subsequent episodes air in the timeslot on March 17 and March 24.

UFC 111 takes place March 27 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., and airs on pay-per-view.

Different from the UFC's traditional "Countdown" shows, "UFC Primetime" goes more in depth and focuses on some of the biggest fights of the year. One popular "Primetime" special, for example, focused on the highly anticipated second meeting between St-Pierre and B.J. Penn, which took place at UFC 94 in January 2009.

The UFC 111 special follows Hardy as he prepares for his bout in his home country of England. The cameras also focus on St-Pierre has he holds his fight camp in Canada and the U.S.

Really? For GSP vs Hardy?
The UFC just loves to hype Georges, huh?

I think it's the other way around. They're trying to generate interest in the fight by hyping Hardy.

I agree. Anytime a fighter has the chance of dethroning the champ, the casual fan should be more than familiar with him.

Well not only that but it gets Dan Hardys face out there and win or lose it makes Hardy more marketable in the future! The more we love or hate a fighter the more likely it is we are gonna tune into a PPV to see whether they win or lose.

I think they'll certainly need it to create interest in this fight. Hopefully it can spark mine. I'm sure the casual fan doesn't give Hardy much of chance. I myself think he's got no more than a punchers chance.

GSP should be able to take him down at will and finish him once its there. Hardy isn't as capable on the ground as Fitch or Alves and I see this fight being finished inside of 5 rounds.

But who knows, maybe "UFC Primetime" will get me interested.

I agree but I like it being seldom. It makes them more special. If they start to over due it i'm going to get over them. I have with the countdown shows. They show them all the time.
