Is he excepting boxing type salary? If so Im sure Dan henderson would have been re-signed.

Toney is 41 with no mma fights and mma fighters dont usually make boxing type money.

UFC can do w/o Toney.

Good. He doesn't deserve more than Keith Jardine even IMO, and I know he makes next to no money, at least used to in his fights.

Did anyone see the video of the meeting with James Toney and Dane White? It sounded to me that James Toney has no intention of doing any serious MMA training and doing what he really needs to do to prepare for an MMA fight. Dana tries to tell him what he's in for but he doesn't want to hear it. I'm sure Dana took that into consideration. I'd bet if James Toney showed up at Xtreme Couture, or American Top Team, or even just brought in some legit grapplers and muay thai strikers for his own camp, he'd get a more serious offer.

Good call. Otherwise he's just another Kimbo basically, but actually boxed whereas Kimbo can just fight. We don't need anymore punchers with absolutely no ground game IMO.

Toney is just looking for a quick,"big" payday and thought he could get it from Zuffa.

WRONG!

Toney has no business in the cage. It will never happen anyhow. The UFC might offer him $40,000 if he is lucky. He will probably take that as an insult though. I don't see the UFC giving this man any real money. If the UFC somehow comes to some deal with him...they will feed him stand up fighters...just like they are feeding Kimbo. Eventually though...you run out of guys who can't fight on the ground. Then Toney...or Kimbo for that matter are done. The only reason the UFC would do this would be for money...then it would be a freakshow. Might as well go get the Hong Man and some masked fighters from Japan. Hit up Bob Sapp too.

in that video Toney says "im here to take on your best athletes" then says its dana's fault because he wont pay him millions to do it.

does he want to prove something or make money? which is it toney?

also funny stuff at the end when dana asked him if he knows how to check a leg kick and toney seemed clueless to what checking a kick is.

i have even less interest in seeing Toney fight than i do herschel.
