For UFC light heavyweight Eliot Marshall (8-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC), things couldn't be better.
Professionally, Marshall has three-straight wins in the UFC. Personally, "The Fire" recently welcomed his first son into his family.
Now Marshall looks to make it a perfect trifecta as he preps for a March 21 bout with Vladimir Matyushenko (23-4 MMA, 4-2 UFC) at "UFC on Versus 1: Vera vs. Jones" – a fight that takes place just three miles from "The Ultimate Fighter 8" cast member's house.
But despite the fact that Marshall will be fighting in front of his hometown crowd at The Odeum in Broomfield, Colo., the light heavyweight recently told MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com/radio) he won't be able to fully cash in on a homefield advantage.
"I don't know about family (coming to watch the fight), but friends, for sure," Marshall said. "My mom doesn't really handle it so well.
