Ricardo Arona could be making his long-awaited debut for the UFC.
"I can't talk about this project right now, but there's a connection between me and the UFC now, something concrete that I didn't have before," Arona is quoted as saying to TATAME.com. "My return will be in the end of the year and will be in the UFC."

Never say never my friend, he could have been training his ass off during his down time. His ground game is probably the best at 205 save for maybe Lil Nog, so with some striking he could be a very serious force at 205.

If they throw him in the deep end of the pool, quite possibly.
This is a division of strikers though, and if anyone can capitalize on that. Its probably arona.

They should let Thiago Silva fight him for his debut if this is true. That would be pretty awesome. Or Brandon Vera is another one likely to get it. It would even be a good fight to give Jon Jones.

He does have a good style for the UFC, but until I see it, then I'll believe it....words really mean nothing now-a-days.

Id like to see them build him up with a fight or two because the ring rust he probably has, is probably still thick.
I think at his best Arona can beat a Rashad, Thiago, Jones or Franklin Guy. And even maybe surprisingly a Mousasi guy if his takedowns were spot on that night.
But with this upcoming fight im not too sure he beats a Jardine Guy, or even a Hammill guy at this point.

im a fan of arona.and i really hope the UFC takes the time to build him up. Arona could be fairly marketable if he comes into the division fighting like he use to in Pride.as of late i keep seeing former Pride stars going to more and more decisions.after a few tune-up fights we should know where he stands in the division
do i think he can beat a guy like jardine? yes. rashad? no not yet

honestly his grappling ability is a few levels above Lil Nog's.
this probably has to do with the UFC's new ties with Abu Dhabi, and i am very excited to see him in the UFC because i believe that under the UFC rules he will be a great contender.

Man just when you think this division can't get any deeper! I hope they give him Franklin to start off, if he loses then he gets Vera or Jones, if he wins, then he gets Thiago Silva or Luiz Cane.
He'll never make a title run but he could be a top ten UFC LHW. I'm excited about the addition.

I would like to see him fight Forrest.
Maybe even Tito. The Abhu Dhabui fight was close.
