Great fight. If Cote shows any ring rust Belcher can take this one.

cote by destruction, should be amazing to see belcher gets pummelled against the cage again in montreal :) if cote does show some ring rust, i really can't see belcher even being able to take this win unless its by decision... or freak leg injury heh

Cote will have a 19-month layoff between fights if this *does* take place on 5/1. I don't see him winning by "destruction" at all. In fact, I think I'll be picking Belcher to win a Unanimous Decision (at this point).

We shall see. I think Mr. Cote will be running on fumes by the end of the 1st round.

I like this fight. Belcher has looked strong lately so he's probably the betting favorite. That said, you can never count out Cote and his overhand right.

I think a deciding factor is whether Belcher stays in prolonged striking wars. He showed a decent chin against Akiyama but I think Cote's chin is superior, and I give the one-hit KO advantage to Cote as well. No, I definitely think Belcher has some good striking but wild exchanges are too risky against Cote. If Belcher stays mobile, circles out of Cote's right and uses some leg kicks along with his other strikes, I think he takes the fight.

He could also go into a clinch game, using dirty boxing and the Thai plum to avoid Cote's straight-up punches. Belcher is becoming something of a monster at middleweight, so he might be able to overpower Cote in close.

For Cote it depends on what rehab has done for his knee. That may factor into how much cardio he can do, what kind of confidence level he has coming into the fight, etc. A healthy Cote will be a threat, but if his knee is still bothering him (either physically or mentally) then I don't see Belcher in too much trouble at any time.

Great matchup, can't wait to see what happens.

I bet Belcher either stops him or beats him hard on the way to a decision. I never believed the Cote hype, I'm a Canadian and that never made me like him anymore.

Cote's rise to Anderson was marked by victories over nobodies, not contenders. They fed him to Silva in a low period where they division was light on people Silva hadn't knocked out.

Anyways, Belcher is just the type of guy to go hard against Cote, a victory here could put him in line for a shot, or at least a shot against a contender for the number 1 spot. He knows that and he will do what needs to be done.

I knew this would be a possible match-up for Cote, but Belcher is going to win this fight either by UD or tko. Even though I dont like Belcher's personality, he can fight and has impressed me.

the only fight that i didn't pick Alan the Talent is durnin the Akiyama fight..but other than that..he's a great fighter..always improves his striking..works hard on his muay thai..goes to Thai Land just to improve on it..under-rated b.j.j..the only thing Cote has going for him..is that one hitta quitta..thats it..i haven't been that impress with Cote..and thought he didn't deserve the title shot he got..but ey who does now and days..Alan via sub..

Agreed. Belcher just keeps getting better and better. Becoming a big fan of his. Love the Johnny Cash tattoo haha badass! I'm taking him by UD too. Should be a great fight though, fight of the night potential. These two are going to scrap!

i think Belcher takes this one. like emfleek said, Cote is coming off a 19 month layoff. Belcher seems to have finally found his groove in the UFC since his win over Herman. Since then he beat Kang, lost a very close split decision to Akiyama, and just destroyed Gouveia. Belcher should definitely be taken seriously. i think he stays on the outside, lands some vicious leg kicks on Cote's surgically repaired knee, and wins by UD.
