That's the sentiment of WEC Lightweight Champion Jamie Varner, who thinks that since the former WEC Featherweight Champion gets all the big promotional deals, they should just rename WEC "The Urijah Faber Show". Varner may be slightly upset that he actually called and asked WEC about getting on board with Pepsi thanks to connections Varner has. Of course the deal went to Faber.

I completely agree with Jamie on this. *EVERYONE* outside of the hardcore fans think "Urijah Faber" when you say WEC. If the WEC didn't have Zuffa's backing/ownership, they'd have gone under long ago, in my opinion. Their marketing team SUCKS.

Pretty much have to agree with Jaime. It seems like 99% of their marketing effort is behind Faber, and the rest of the guys are just a footnote. At the same time though, Varner has been out of action for a long time--so the likelihood of him landing the big sponsor over the other top dogs in the division are slim.

agreed..i don't see them tryin to promote anyone but Faber(maybe thats why i kinda hate the guy)..and after Faber,Torres comes to mind..the two fighters that i see as poster boys for WEC..they need to start marketin Aldo..cause he's gonna be their bread and butter few the next few years...

I agree with pretty much everyone here. But, there is one thing Varner should take into consideration...maybe the sponsor ultimately wanted Faber. And it could be the result of what he's talking about, but from a business perspective, Faber is more sponsor friendly at the moment.

Well with Faber's exciting style, good lucks and model hair as wellas a Peter Griffin chin he is the most marketable.
However I see Torres and Cerrone getting attenion these days.Aldo will also soon.
Varner has been out of action for a while and has not destinguished himself from the rest of the pack yet.
