For starters, there's the production value you hear so much about. In Japan, they don't just introduce a guy and play whatever Tupac song he's chosen for his entrance music; they make a true multimedia presentation out of it. Perhaps no one made better use of this than Akihiro Gono, who, as we already know, loves to make an entrance. His walk-out this time was like a mini-concert, which is fitting since Dynamite's main ratings competition on Japanese TV is something called "The Red White Song Battle," -- essentially a free concert featuring famous musicians, couched as a competition between an all-male and all-female team of singers.

I'm likely alone or close to it on this one but I wouldn't lose any sleep if they cut out the entrances all together.
To me its just another fight they could have fit into the broadcast.

Trust me...you're not alone. I agree 100%.
Entrances and nicknames. I wouldn't miss either of them.

gotta disagree, i love that part of the japanese fight game. maybe its the lingering pride nuthugger in me, but without the crazy screaming lady and wacky entrances the fights just wouldnt be the same.
can you honestly say you dont love seeing a guy like mayhem come out to his fights? i sure cant.

I enjoy them, but I wouldn't miss them if they were gone. I hate the fact that you have to sometimes wait 20 minutes in between fights to get all of the introductions and pre-fight instructions done. Get 'em in the ring, let 'em fight and get 'em the hell out for the next fight. That would be ideal...for me, anyways.

My thoughts on them would be based on what they'd be replaced with.
If it's taking the place of fights, I hate them.
If it's taking the place of hype videos and useless talk, they're a welcome upgrade.
I would think 9 out of 10 times it's filling time that would not have been spent on a fight anyways.

I'll take a ridiculously long entrance over annoying repeated main event previews.
