With original opponent Steve Cantwell now off Saturday's UFC 108 for undisclosed reasons, it now appears Vladimir Matyushenko is off as well. It appears UFC won't be able to find a replacement on roughly 2 days' notice, so Matyushenko has been pulled and 108 will have 10 fights.

Article

(Note: There appears to be a typo saying a replacement could be found in time)

I hope Vladdy gets his show money. Hard to believe they couldn't find someone he could pummel, even at heavyweight.

Seriously the most cursed card in MMA history. Beats the hell out of UFC 85 which was pretty damn beat up at the time.

I am upset to hear this, as a big fan of Vlad's, I just can't believe how many people had to withdraw from this card, its insane, only like 4 fights are the same as when they were originally announced.

No one is going to take on a wrestler like Vlad with only 2 days notice, that just spells disaster. I wouldn't be surprised if the UFC did pay him the show money either, I belive they did that recently for Hazelett.

And to make things worse, Dana's taking the "eternal optimist" (not) stance on Cantwell: In an update to the article, at today's 108 pre-fight presser White said Cantwell was sidelined with a medical issue and "may never fight again," though he wouldn't elaborate. He should, makes it sound like Cantwell's on his deathbed.

This card is doomed. Anyone attending head these words. WATCH OUT!!!!! The building might collapse and kill everyone there! At least thats the feeling I get when I think about 108
