I think Dan would stand with him and it would be a hell of a war.

i say give smith the fight! i'd love to watch that but the problem is smith will spend the whole fight on his back. henderson isnt stupid enough to take the risk standing with smith.
props to joe for fighting anybody they put in front of him!

I think Joe has the right attitude. He should sit down with Jon Fitch, Josh Koshcheck, Mike Swick, Anderson Silva, and Lyoto Machida and explain to them that it's just a business. I fight my friends and brother in training all the time. Granted our careers aren't on the line, but I'd be willing to do it so long as the person I was fighting wasn't one loss away from getting cut.

Yeah, it seems stupid unless there was a real possibiity of f*cking up your buddies career. You can't take bread out your brothers mouth. However, in the case off all the fighters stated above, I think they're doing just fine and should buck up and fight already.
In the case of the AKA guys I think they honestly are afraid of each other. They know all each others strengths and weaknesses and they're all top guys in the division. It seems like an excuse to avoid a fight they very well might lose.

I wouldn't mind seeing Hendo/Smith for a title shot...it's an interesting matchup although I think Hendo would KO Smith. I'm actually really interested in a fight between Jake Shields and Jacare, I don't think they'll give Jacare a title shot, but I'd love to see that fight.

Shields, Jacare, Smith, Babalu, Southworth, Lindland, Whitehead, King Mo, and Mousassi will all start calling out Hendo soon. It won't take long for Hendo to wear both of those belts.

Hendo would completely destroy Smith wherever the fight was to take place..........Hendo has never been KO'ed and i don't think Smith would change that..........

He risked standing with Anderson. Not sure thats a risk for Dan. Smith is tough for sure bt thats like a 3 level jump from Cung to Dan in terms of power Dan would knock him out IMO.

It's actually not a bad matchup from a marketng stand point. You run some highlights of all of Smith's KO's and play him up, then you put in Henderson---he KO's smith. Pretty good marketing and makes Henderson look like a world beater to the average CBS tune in viewer. It's a better "entertainment value" fight than the leg humping debut with Shields.
real fans are already Hendo fans or at least they respect what he can bring to the table. He jumped into the UFC took all comers and didn't take any garbage fights. Nothing wrong with at least one garbage fight. ;)
