“When was the last time you seen a UFC fight card put together like this?” he said. “When was the last time you saw UFC fighters lay it on the line like we did tonight, and when was the last time you seen a main event like you did tonight? I haven’t seen one of those in a while from the UFC. So, I think we delivered.”

I give Strikeforce props for a great event.

But, to answer his question...I just saw it at their last event actually. The only thing missing was Diego coming back at the end. I see guys lay it on the line at every event...I wouldn't get too caught up in a single fight like Kimbo vs Houston dancing around, because it's been a while since I've seen a disappointing event actually.

beat me to it. i think Thomson just sounds stupid calling out the UFC. yeah his fight was entertaining, but i can name 10 UFC fights that were just as entertaining if not more entertaining.

i just brush off the things that were said by him and Melendez in regards to the UFC until they put up or shut up. it's almost like they are desperate for the attention so they are using the UFC's notoriety to pull attention toward their performance.

Hes got a point. Up until the last card some of the UFC events have not been that lack luster so to speak.

I'm confused. 2hotty wrote that the events have not been lackluster but that he's got a point? Then you disagree that they have not bee lackluster because they've been solid?

I'm not sure what either of you is trying to say really.

But I think Strikeforce is putting on good shows, just not as good as the UFC's shows.

I'll say that was one of my favorite cards this year but as for ufc being boring the thought is absurd

Every fight on that card besides Thomson/Melendez was one sided.

Smith's KO was great, but come on, he got absolutely abused by Le in the first 2 rounds and landed a few punches in the third to KO Le.

Thomson can say what he wants, he'd lose to a lot of UFC fighters, I think he's just jealous he's not in the organization honestly. I did enjoy Thomson/Melendez tho.

For the money....SF is better.

The last few UFC's have been kind of bad for me minus Diego v. Penn but I didn't even watch that one. The ones that I've paid for and the ones that I've watched on Spike haven't been amazing since probably...July.

SF cards have been free for me and minus Jake Shields "leg humping" :) the fights were solid on all the cards I've watched with them.

But there is no need to call out the UFC. Just do your thi ng and let Dana talk ish about you and taking it laying down.

He definitely has a right to be proud for that fight. Those guys put on a hell of a show... And why not talk s***! It seems to be working for Dana!

Imagine how good the UFC's cards would be if they were shown on the regularity of SF's. What if the UFC only had ten total events a year? Wow! UFC 100 everytime out.

Come on Josh, don't compare apples to oranges.

A few years ago events were less frequent ( a bit like SF)and the cards were very good - kind of like SF!
Nowadays there are more UFC events but I feel they are not as good as they were but now we pay twice the amounts.I would have thought with more event we would see more title defences as a matter of fact almost every event should by all means have a title on the line, but with UF and more events we get Vera/Couture which makes no sense etc.Not entirely a crap card but if I pay $45 for UFC 100 and I pay $45 Vera/Couture I feel ripped off.

That's why Vera/Couture was free
