Aldo. Ran through his competition so far and will probably continue to do so in the new year.

Aldo because he took over a whole division by taking out everybody, While GSP had 2 boing fights, Machida was the clear winner til he fought shogun, BJ lost, and Anderson did horrible against thales.

Earlier this year, I thought it would be Machida. But after his fight with Shogun and Aldo's Mike-Brown-Beatdown I think Aldo came in ahead. As others have said, there was never a moment in any of his fights where it seemed he might have a problem with his opponent. Obviously some of his opponents were not the highest-caliber, but he defaced a top 20 FW and dominated the top FW and borderline top 10 p4p.

If GSP hadn't shut it down so early this year, he probably would have been my pick.

My problem with GSP is that he bores the hell outta me. Yes he's an incredible wrestler, but I just hate that style, he used to be very exciting...until the Serra dust up.

I would have to go with either Aldo or Machida as both had great years. Also GSP is deserving as well.

Machida not only beat two very good top 10 undefeated fighters but he KOed both of them. Even if you agree or disagree with the outcome of the fight with Shogun it was still a great fight and if anything it showed how great both fighters are.

Aldo won 4 fights two of which was against top 10 fighters one of which was number 1 and a top P4P fighter but he also made it look easy.

GSP beat BJ Penn and Alves which both were top 10 fighters and BJ being one of the best P4P fighters in the world. He also beat both these guys without even losing one round.

Aldo, because as others have said not only did he defeat top competition, he did it with ease and was the most dominant.
