Dave Meltzer gets the news that the beloved referee Big John McCarthy will be working his first Zuffa event since The Ultimate Fighter 6 finale two years ago. However, McCarthy will be working as a judge instead of a referee at WEC 46 scheduled to take place on January 10th in Sacramento...

Agreed...it's a start. Hopefully he smacks Cecil Peoples in the back of the head every time he catches him playing on his PSP.

Hopefully they won't agree on decisions and thus make Joe Martinez announce the scores and thus the judges' names. Guaranteed Big John gets the biggest pop of the night if that happens.

That's really cool. I hope it works out.

I think he's can be a judge that can ease everyone stress on judging.

Am I the only one comfortable if Big John was the ONLY one to judge that night?

I think Big John can probably make a whole school in the future, for ref's and who knows maybe even judging....could be a real difference maker in the future of the sport. Unless he pulls what I call "A Peoples!"

I heard that too, though I also cannot remember where. He involved in a course that instructs would be refs and judges if I remember correctly.
