There are no moral victories in the UFC: A loss means half the paycheck the winner gets, a step away from a title shot and a disheartening trip home.

But every now and then, a loss enhances a fighter’s reputation or showcases his skills in a way that makes people forget the overall outcome.

So we’re kicking off our unofficial year-end “Best Of” season with a list of the “best” losses of 2010 – ten performances worth saluting

I would say Vera's loss to Couture belongs right up there, too.

I kept telling everyone going into that fight that Vera's wrestling is no joke and he'll do a good job nullifying Randy's. No one believed it, but he proved it. Randy smothered him well, but his takedown attempts were stuffed many, many times by Vera. That, and Vera had Randy rocked a few times. I think you could make an argument Vera won that fight, but it's moot anyway.

Also- Couture's loss to Noguiera was a great fight that nobody should come out ashamed of themselves in.

the biggest omission is brett rogers IMO, he did a great job in there for a guy with 1 signature win to his credit going against the best ever. he is definitely going to be around and relevant for as long as he stays in shape.(i say that because hes nuilt like a guy that has to keep training to keep the weight somewhat manageable)

Well considering the UFC is the one who put the article out I'm going to have to disagree that Rogers should have been on there

That being said, I think Rogers did lose in impressive fashion. He definitely had no business getting Fedor into some of the positions that he did.
