Former welterweight contender Thiago Alves will make his return to action at UFC 111 on March 27, 2010.Alves suffered a PCL tear in training for a bout with Jon Fitch at UFC 107, but has recently begun training again, according to his manager, Malki Kawa of First Round Management. An opponent for the American Top Team standout is not confirmed at this time.

Sweet....I'd like to see him rematch Kos, but if not just having him back in action will be nice.....too bad Hardy is fighting GSP, Alves Hardy could be a good one for sure.

anthony johnson would be a fun fight, but i think i'd like to see alves/kos 2 more than that. However, im not too concerned with who he fights yet. Its just good to hear he's coming back that soon. Before the GSP fight he was the talk of the ww town. and heres hoping he'll go right back to knocking fools out.
luckily, theres a few good WWs that would make good fights.
johnson
kos
swick
hazelett/daley are taken, otherwise i think id like those best

There would have to be side bets on whether or not either guy can make weight, lol

That's a really good match up, though. Alves' devastating MT kicks vs. AJ's heavy hands. I would love to see that fight.

Swick or Fitch please...AJ doesn't deserve a shot at Alves even though it would be a good fight, they need to build AJ back up again after his loss to Kos.

I dont know about Saunders i think it would not be a fair match at this time, saunders need more time to get better IMO but a fight against KOS would be good!

It's hard to find Alves an opponent because he's better than the field but not the champion yet, I think a rematches with Lytle and Fitch are probable. Watching Fitch half ass his last couple fights and almost get stopped by Mike Pierce leaves no doubt in my mind left that Alves would smash Jon's face into a pulp worse than GSP and Pierce did. Yeah Fitch won last time but Alves wasnt nearly the fighter he is today. I was really excited when Fitch almost got stopped last Saturday, sick of Fitch's hype and squeeking by on being tough and actively seeking LnP. He's basically the Jake Shields of the UFC and ironically he fights at WW too.

Alves/Fitch REMATCH!

Him and Swick are the only WW's that arent currently signed to fights that I can think of that would be a good match for Alves.

Kos is fighting Paulo Thiago again at 109

IDK about that....AJ and KOS had a bad fight in which tons of fouls had a factor on the fight's outcome. I think that most casual fans think well of AJ still and the fight would be able to stand on it's own.

Im an AJ fan but I dont think AJ should be fed to Alves. AJ needs to be built up again.

Sure...but he still lost and 2 losses in a row (very possible against Alves) isn't good for fighters who are still young, in the UFC.

I hear you that could also put Alves at 2 in a row as well....but I just don't want to see Alves get LNPed again. I think that even though Fitch TKOed Alves last time, this time he would LNP. I don't want to see Thiago put up against a pure wrestling talent like that and end up watching a crappy fight. Then again I don't want him to be hand picked a stand up fighter who is going to get dropped in the first either.
