If the recent announcement that Chuck Liddell (21-7 MMA, 16-6 UFC) will oppose Tito Ortiz (15-7-1 MMA, 14-7-1 UFC) in the upcoming 11th season of "The Ultimate Fighter" left you scratching your head more than pumping your fist, you're not alone.
UFC president Dana White had to be convinced, too.
More than anything and I don't think the show will capture this as much as it should, but I think this is a great story in the making no matter how it unfolds. Chuck wants that one more fight and it's going to be against that old nemises from his past.
I don't see this being an important fight in the world of MMA, but I honestly believe this will define the end of both mens careers. They may go on fighting for a time after this bout but I believe (no matter how much Chuck and Tito may disagree) that this will be their last great chapter inside the cage.
I dont see why Dana is so negative towards Chuck. He got KOed but TOP 5 competition (Rampage, Shogun, Rashad) and lost a close split decision to Jardine. Chuck might not be Top 5 anymore but he can definitely be a gatekeeper in the division and put people in seats.

I gotta agree, I don't see or hear anything wrong with Chuck, other than he got exposed for his weaknessese and people quit being afraid and figured out how to fight him.
But only pefect if one of his fighters on TUF wins TUF and he beats Tito Ortiz.
And if he can and if only he can (unlikely) start surviving on his own out there in the MMA world, I say he should keep fighting. I mean Couture and Coleman are still going. lol

Not going to happen IMO. Chuck is a true fighter. You don't get to be a dominant champion without that innate desire to step into that cage and compete. He's going to want to keep fighting as long as his body will let him pretty much.

if he beats tito, he'll want to keep fighting so will tito for that matter in fact, win or lose, both these guys will want to keep fighting the tricky part isn't if they still can, its if they could accept being a more irrelevant fighter. neither of them will challenge for a title. they could make good fights for like the 2nd or 3rd fight on the card, but only if they fight each other will it really matter. if chuck, tito, and dana can all get on board with that, then these guys will keep fighting.
