Multiple sources report that the UFC brass has issued a latest batch of pink slips: The most high-profile castoff of the bunch is none other than the former top 10 middleweight, Denis Kang.
Kang recorded a remarkable 23-fight undefeated streak from 2003 to 2006 in such organizations as Pride FC and Spirit MC. Since then, he has dropped five of nine fights to opponents such as Kazuo Misaki, Yoshihiro Akiyama, and Gegard Mousasi.
As one of the most prized acquisitions by UFC this year, he has not lived up to the lofty hype: His UFC record stands at 1-2, with a decison win over Xavier Foupa-Pokam sandwiched between dispiring losses to Alan Belcher in his promotional debut and to Michael Bisping at UFC 105.
He is reportedly in talks with several promotions in the US and abroad. As devastating a cut from UFC roster may be for Kang, he has numerous options, such as following Dan Henderson to Strikeforce or going back to Japan where he made his name as one of the premier welterweights in Pride FC.

Larson cut is old news, that happened a while back. Not surprised about Liu Kang, he was a borderline bust.

Actually he hasnt been the same since the love of his life Shelby Walker overdosed (possibly suicide). It happened after the Suloev fight, going 5-5 since that point.

it really is too bad for kang, i had high expectations for him but he has some soul searching to do before he can make it back to the top.
also hits close to home for me because it's another canadian cut after a loss to a TUF3 winner, which begs the question; how high does the ufc hold their TUF3 winners? i only ask because it seems like if you can't beat one of them, you get cut. unless of course, you're a huge draw, for better or for worse.

To bad for kang and I didn't know about the girlfriend. Thats unfortunate because he has a lot of talent. Personal stuff can really mess you up inside the ring, see Vitor Belfort.

It is too bad that Kang tenure in the UFC didn't pan out, but I'd still take him against a lot of the guys the UFC has on their roster.
