A light heavyweight bout has been added to the UFC's first trip to the land down under as former "Ultimate Fighter" winner, Ryan "Darth" Bader, looks to keep his undefeated record in tact as he faces "The Dean of Mean" Keith Jardine.
The bout was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com on Tuesday by multiple sources close to the fight who indicated bout agreements have been issued for the upcoming fight.
Ryan Bader has looked strong in both of his fights since winning the "Ultimate Fighter" competition, most recently a unanimous decision victory over Eric "Red" Schafer. The former All-American from Arizona State showed some dangerous stand-up to compliment his impressive wrestling background to batter Schafer for the better part of the fight to get the win.
Now taking a step forward in competition, Bader sets his sights on Keith Jardine, who has been a perennially tough fighter always in or hovering around the top ten of the 205lb division.
Bader by tko. This isn't a challenge for Bader and there setting Jardine up for another loss. Jardine is a warrior but he's never going to win consistently, Bader is going to consistently take him down and probably catch him on the chin somewhere along the way. I really enjoy Jardine fights with stand-up guys but he really doesn't need to fight everybody. I think Jardine is two losses from getting cut.
Good fight. Ill probably take Bader UD. But if Keith can crack him with a few good leg kicks early and hinder his ability to get the takedown, Jardine has a good chance to take this himself. I generally pick wrong when it comes to Jardine, so I wont be putting any wagers on this fight thats for sure.
i love how you guys jump off the band wagon when a fighter starts losing, already counting jardine out cause he lost his last 2
I agree. And Bader hasn't exactly been impressive.
I don't know who I'll be picking just yet, but I'm certain it won't be an asswhooping either way. I'm leaning towards a SD. Jardine loses the first round and comes back and kicks the **** out of Bader's legs in the 2nd. The 3rd round being fought standing up...
