With Gonzaga’s left, Junior’s presence is a doubt, but the heavyweight wants to stay on the card, scheduled to January 2. “I’m waiting an UFC proposal, but probably they will put someone else on his place. As the most of the heavyweights are sick or have scheduled fights, there are few fighters to put, but I believe that they will find someone (laughs)“, Junior said, analyzing the possible opponents. “I’ll tell you, I was thinking about that“, reveals, laughing. “UFC has no options. Cain Velasquez might fight Rodrigo (Nogueira) in February, it looks like (Shane) Carwin went on surgery on his hand, I don’t know. There are some new guys on the UFC, but we hope that they match with someone more known on UFC“.

I wish Kongo and MIr weren't already scheduled to fight because I would really like to see JDS vs Kongo JDS vs Duffee is a cool idea but I can see how it might be a bad choice for JDS . Duffee is somewhat new and doesn't have the same fame as Lesnar, GG, Velasquez, Carwin, ect ect
Edit: after discussing this with some friends and researching on the web I would propose JDS vs Pat Barry or JDS vs Paul Buentello would be cool fights too.

I was just thinking that.....would be the perfect fight for him to come back for.
Tough opponent/up and comer Dos Santos against a name like Herring would put some butts in the seats. I mean with all these injuries lately, they have to do something. Herring is definitely someone Dos Santos can beat so the UFC wouldn't fear matching them up and knocking off a contender in Dos Santos too.

WAR Pat Barry fighting JDS. It would be a stand up war. Holy crap would that be a great fight. Clash of striking styles at its best. Muai Thai vs Boxing. I would have to go with Juinior on this one his power would be the deciding factor. i like watching Barry fight. He does have a legit shot at winning if it happens, just leaning toward JDS

I like the Herring idea myself, or maybe even Beuntello...Struve should get one of the newbies.
