Apparently being able to jump out of a pool forwards and backwards isn't enough to save Jake Rosholt's UFC career. Despite his rather unique talents he announced today he's been released after a 1-2 stint in the promotion. He beat Chris Leben by submission for his one win but his recent loss to Kendall Grove was his last in UFC.

BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
he smothers Leben in front on his home crowd and then loses one fight and gets cut?!
This is a stupid rumor if it is a rumor
This guy is explosive and has a lot of great skills, bring back the bigger weight classes in WEC if you are going to start cutting people at this level

Not cool. Its not like it was back to back losses. He's still young in MMA, he's still got room to improve and this doesnt help him.

wow, The guy showed great strength, wrestling in his last fight, and got caught with a triangle, although I thought he tapped a bit early, there is no reason to cut this up n comer from the UFC.

Rosholt would make a stellar addition to Strikeforce. He could headline a Challengers card or make a nice fight on a normal card.

seriously? wtf. This guy was a real hot prospect. Good wrestling and jiu jitsu, he was only going to improve. Bad call UFC, bad CALL.

what's the big deal, his only win in the UFC came against Leben who barely trained for that fight...
he got tooled by Dan Miller and lost to Kendall Grove who is a mid level fighter....it's pretty clear that Rosholt needs more experience outside the UFC, this is actually a smart decision by them.....he can rack up wins and improve his skills on the outside and then come back even better sometimes people just don't see the big picture

Cant understand why they cut the likes of Jake, and still keep Leben around. What a joke.

What's wrong with Leben? He is an exciting fighter win or lose and is one of the people responsible for MMA's growth after the original TUF.
Anyways as for Rosholt, I have no idea why they would cut him after one loss to Grove. They should have given him at least one more chance, he was promising talent.

That was Leites that they brought back. Tamdan is still cut.
Edit: Leites and Tamdan are both still cut. Dana wanted to bring them back but nothing has happened yet. Leites is fighting for Maximum Fighting Championship now.

Im pretty disappointed in this decision. Its not like he got tooled by kendal or anything in my eyes he was winning and made a mistake...
Maybe it is one of those releases that let the fighter go until he puts some wins together/ evolves as a fighter, then bring em back in... But I havent heard of the UFC doing this in a while so who knows.
Jake still has a bright future in a year or two I wont be surprised to see em back in the UFC or in Strikeforce's main show...

Whats wrong with re-using ziploc bags? lol
I don't think he should've gotten cut, but he got tapped twice in the first round... oh well. He'll be back anyways
