Josh Burkman, a cast member from "The Ultimate Fighter 2" who was once one of the UFC's most promising welterweight prospects, returned from a 13-month layoff and posted a first-round stoppage victory over the weekend.

Burkman (19-8) defeated "TUF 5" cast member and fellow UFC vet Brandon Melendez (22-15) via first-round TKO at the Nov. 20 Throwdown Showdown 5 event in Utah.

He was never a promising prospect in my book. His ceiling was always very obvious whenever he stepped up.

I agree, but he comes to fight and makes it interesting...so i'll watch him, even when he loses it's usually an exciting fight.

hes a great athlete with a decent all around game, i just think with each loss he lost some confidence and in turn the willingness to really lay it on the line out there. the guy looked more and more tentative towards the end of his UFC stint and thats usually a mental thing.
