Since the initial news of the UFC's upcoming Australian debut and a possible headliner between Wanderlei Silva and Yoshihiro Akiyama, many fans have wondered why the event will be held on a Sunday rather than the traditional Saturday. Now we know why: Because, unfortunately, it will be a PPV in the US. That is according to a source close to UFC, who says UFC 110 won't air for free on Spike.

It'll be on the 21st in Australia, presumably a 2 PM local time start to make it the usual 10 PM ET start on the 20th in the US.

I would certainly hope that they'd move it up a couple hours to assure a few more buys. People don't like to stay up late on Sundays when they have to work early Monday morning.

To make it easier to figure out for those in the US, Sydney, Australia is roughly 16 hours ahead of EST, 13 hours ahead of PST. So when it's 2 PM Sunday in Sydney it should be 10 PM ET, 7 PM PT Saturday night.
