Defanitley a weaker card. I am pumped however for the Jackson v.s. Liddel fight. This card has a lot of fighters I haven't heard much of anything about so It's kinda making it hard to choose my winners, but hey what can ya do?

Things I like about this card- Liddell/Jackson, The return of Ivan Salaverry to the big leagues, and Karo Parisyan's appearance on the card(Judo).

Things that dissappoint me- No pride crossover bouts, one one LW fight, and the fact that Zuffa hasn't used their obvious position of dominance in the MMA world to start making moves on some of the under 155 fighters and bring the stacked and exciting smaller weight divs to the masses.

I don't really know about that personally...I'm not a big fan of watchin under 155-lb fighters. 155 is small enough and I don't want them to take time away from the other divisions to make room for under 155ers. There are already a lot of undercard fights that I want to see that they don't show on the ppvs (Machida especially, even the last Herring fight). If they bring in the really small guys, they will cut those guys out even more.

ya i feel the same i think 155 is good but 145 should stay in the wec and it will give alot of reason to watch the wec and the ufc as it is for the most now it's like all the guys that couldn't hang in the ufc they send to teh wec.

I can't believe so many of you think this card isn't good. Liddel/Jackson may be the fight of the year! Karo/Burkman should be good Jardine is great ! Irvin/Silva will be a Good fast paced matchup.

From MMA:

UFC 71: Liddel vs. Jackson
May 26, 2007 @ Las Vegas, Nevada

Chuck Liddell vs. Quinton Jackson
Karo Parisyan vs. Josh Burkman
Ivan Salaverry vs. Terry Martin
Keith Jardine vs. Houston Alexander
Chris Leben vs. Kalib Starnes
Din Thomas vs. Jeremy Stephens
James Irvin vs. Thiago Silva
Eric Schafer vs. Sean Salmon
Wilson Gouveia vs. Carmelo Marrero
--------------------------------------------------

C'mon Chris Leben and Kalib Starnes, both guys no one gives a shit about. Sean Salmon tried a friggin Karate Kid Jump kick on Rashad Evens. Karo Parisyan = overrated.

What the hell is wrong with Dana, putting on a crap show like this.

Karo isn't overrated1 What the hell are you talking about? Please explain your reasoning behind your brash statements, which are pretty far out there.

yeah, nubby can be far out there on some topics.

i dont care much for starns but for some reason i do like leben. he goes out a brawls every fight, no slow gear for him.
if karate kid salmon would have landed that kick no one would be raggin on him.
and any one who thinks karo is over rated isnt thinking clearly.
16 &4,
2 losses to sherk like 6 1/2 years ago and sherks on top now
1 loss to rush who was just the champ and beat serra who is now the champ
1 loss to diego that could have gone either way and until kos diego was unstoppable.
karo does go to a lot of decisions (just 2 sub stoppages since 2003) but obviously he has excellent cardio. and hes always on the attack and pressing the action
so losing to sherk, st. pierre, sanchez aint so bad
and beating serra, carter, diaz & lytle is prety good in my book.
and nick tompson is 15 & 1since 7/2005 with his only loss to karo

Exactly, when has Karo ever been in a boring fight? he has a recent win over the champ ffs, and is still very young, he is the future champ without a doubt!

Kalib hung pretty well with Okami, better than Leben would of!!! Kalib will beat Leben, he has all the tools needed, 4inch reach will help and then he can hopefulyl get him down and choke him out like Mac did

The Martin Salaverry fight will be wicked, I really dont rate Ivan at all and dont understand why others do, boring fighter scared of getting punched, good subs but thats it, Terry will hit him and likely KO him or take him down at will

The prelims are quite good as well, so really dont know why people are complaining about this card its packed with very competative fights :)

Hi guys, this card is quite a good one.
Couture said on sherdog that he thinks rampage will stop chuck in the 4th via tko.
Im still going for a chuck 1st or 2nd round ko. this win will solify chucks greatness at 205.
cheers

Personally I think this is Chuck's toughest fight EVER. Rampage is a hard opponent for Chuck. He can take Chuck's punches... something Chuck is not used too. This allows for Rampage to not fall into Chuck's gameplan like many of his adversaries.

I'm going with Rampage Rd. 1 KO
