I don't judge a card until AFTER the fights. Names mean nothing in MMA.

I see what you're saying, but when I'm thinking about a pay-per-view, I have to decide whether the card "looks good" before I pay $40 for it.

i bet you anything Big Nog will fight at UFC 71 too.

I won't take that bet.

Brandon Vera could appear on a card at any time too.

Don't get why the thread starter thinks Karo is overrated.

As for the fight card, it doesn't look amazing but there's only four fights. And yeah salmon vs schaffer will be a prelim, like SteedTheDeed said. Most likely the Leban fight, too.

Hopefully Vera is fighting on this card.

Liddell getting wrecked by Rampage alone will make this an event worth seeing.

Completely agreed. And Karo, overrated? Come on.

The card looks typical to me. However, I think the Chuck Rampage fight is going to sell this event regardless.

I am always excited to see Karo fight.

I am eager to see Kalib fight too. I thought the guy had potential in TUF. I think he gets a bad rep. from his withdrawal. Whether his ribs were bruised, cracked or separated, I think the notion of not quitting a fight when you know you could get seriously hurt is just macho bullshit.

There is a difference between getting hurt mid-round and still going than sitting in between rounds and not being able to move/breathe without feeling major pain. Look at what happened to BJ when he fought Hughes recently. Yeah, BJ got a lot of respect going into round 3 and getting his ass kicked.

I'm hoping Kalib will redeem himself in this event.

Light Heavyweight Championship bout: Chuck Liddell vs. Quinton Jackson[1]
Welterweight bout: Karo Parisyan vs. Josh Burkman[2]
Light Heavyweight bout: Sean Salmon vs. Eric Schafer[3]
Middleweight bout: Chris Leben vs. Kalib Starnes[4]

C'mon Chris Leben and Kalib Starnes, both guys no one gives a shit about. Sean Salmon tried a friggin Karate Kid Jump kick on Rashad Evens. Karo Parisyan = overrated.

What the hell is wrong with Dana, putting on a crap show like this.

Sometimes lesser fighters make great fights.Like who was Sokojou and Huerta a year ago.Unknowns(at least to me.)

And sometimes the known ones not so great fight.Anything recent with Silvia or the Kos Deigo fight(could be considered boring by most.)

I am just looking for great fights and to root on my more favored fighters.

I think all the above fights can be really good.Besides Leban I do like all the above mentioned fighters styles of fighting.

Also I think Salmon had round 1 vs Evans. So he doesnt suck that much and he seems like a cool guy which also makes me want him to suceed in the UFC.However I will be rooting for Red since I like the slick BJJ he has.

Point is do not judge a fight or event before it goes down!

I heard Thiago Silva is fighting James Irvin at UFC 71. I hope that fight gets televised instead of Leben vs. Starnes.

Let's see. Nick Diaz, Chris Lytle, Nick Thompson, Matt Serra, Shonie Carter. He went to a decision against GSP, had one of the best UFC fights ever against Diego Sanchez. You can't tell me this guy isn't at least fun to watch.

I think it will more than likely turn out to be a solid card.

I'd like to see Karo and Burkamn for sure along with Chuck/ Rampage. According to mmaweekly there is also the possibility of Salaverry vs. Terry Martin. Although it won't likely get on TV that's another fight I'd like to see right there. And if, as mentioned previously, Big Nog's debut or a Brandon Vera fight are announced the card will start to look even better. (esp. if it turns out to be Nog vs. Vera)

P.S. don't hate on Karo.
