With Brock Lesnar out of the ring for awhile, wheres does that leave the rest of the HW's? Dana White has already said there will be an iterm title, but who?? Shane Carwin- needs an opp. Big Nog - out with illness Cain V. - needs an opp. Junior Dos - is fight GG Kongo - is fighting Frank Mir
the only fight i can see happening is Shane Carwin vs Cain Velasquez, if they wont a fight right now for the iterm belt or they could wait and see the winners or the other fights

Carwin just had knee surgery recently, so his status might be up in the air also. My guess is that this HW title picture is gonna remain pretty murky here for the near future. The fights that are scheduled will help to sort some things out though.

Actually, word from his management is he DID NOT have knee surgery. Either way he's not available until after 108. Only real matchup they can do now is Shane vs. either Cain or Dos Santos. The only other guy even close is Stefan Struve, but I feel he needs at least one more win.

I dont see how Struve can be close. 2 wins over cans and a beating at the hands of JDS doesnt put you near contention IMO

Carwin vs winner of GG vs JDS makes the most sense to me right now, but Cain should definately be in the picture, maybe he can fight winner of Mir vs Kong.

I wouldn't even put Struve on a Fight Night main card.

Cain vs Carwin makes the most sense in my mind. They are the two best in the UFC outside of Brock in my eyes. Cain has walked through everybody he's fought so far and Carwin has knocked out everyone in his path if I'm not mistaken. Just seems right for those two to be fighting for whatever type of title is trying to be set up.
