oh wait maybe its cuz u cant predict a fight just from what u see on paper, its a guess, and u take a gamble on it, and everyone has a punchers chance so yeah, that might be why i have a losing record, or it might be cuz the guy i picked lost, if i had a choice, i'd be undefeated............
I dislike Barnett a fair bit, because of roids and basically his general attitude.
But IMO, you guys are pretty stupid if u dont want this fight to happen. It will be one of the best fights of the century.
Sure Barnett will quite possibly be on roids, but it will be one of the greatest fights ever.
Do you really believe this? Maybe 2-3 years ago that would've been the case, but after watching the guy take like 7 minutes in full mount to finish Gilbert Yvel, and actually getting pummeled by the guy for several periods throughout, I have pretty serious doubts that this fight will be very close at all.
This fight will play out just like all of Fedor's fights.
For the months leading up to it, there will be quite a few people going "out on a limb" and calling for the upset. Probably the same people that call for Fighter A to beat Fighter B (Fedor) *every* time, just so they can hopefully come back to the site after the fight and boast and brag about how they called the upset. We'll have the usual "Fedor hasn't fought top competition" threads and "Fedor is nothing until he fights in the UFC" threads. But, in the end, Fedor will absolutely wreck Barnett and we'll all move on. For the next couple of weeks, everyone will have their lips firmly stapled to Fedor's nuts and will be calling him the greatest fighter of all-time, blah blah blah...and then Strikeforce will announce his next fight and the cycle starts once again. "Fedor is overrated" and "Fedor will lose to _______"
The moral of the story?
Fedor wins.

meh, i still want to see the fight. maybe its me hanging on to the pride days, and the fact that this fight never happened there. maybe its because i think barney is one of the few fighters that i think could really test fedor. more likely its that i want to see fedor take out every HW of relevance from this era and barney certainly is a relevant fighter, and a perennial top 10 fighter at that. sure the roid test failures suck and really damage barnetts legacy, but i want to see good competitive fights. this isnt martial arts in its purest form where honor is a major motivating factor, this is a big money business and good fights are good for business.
Fedor beating Barnett on roids will just be that much sweeter. It would be nice to have it in the US so people get the chance to catch it prime time but Barnett does not deserve that attention. Kind of sucks for Strikeforce cause if the fight happens, then Fedor won't be fighting on CBS for quite some time.
I'm torn a bit cause I want Strikeforce to succeed but don't want to see Barnett back in the limelight yet.

i hope strikeforce can make it happen on cbs although i don't think Josh deserves to fight fedor right now based on his history. after testing positive again (really just getting caught cuz it's safe to assume a lot of fighters do it) I think he should have to pass tests and work his way up to fedor again....but at the end of the day...i really just want to see this fight.
and of course sylvia & arlovski deserved to fight fedor. Arlovski and Brett both gave Fedor a good fight until they got smashed.
