I dunooo....
Ever since the fold of Affliction, mixed martial arts fans have been wondering if the bout between #1 ranked heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko (31-1) and top five contender Josh Barnett (24-5) would ever take place. Sources close to DREAM have informed MMA Recap (http://www.mmarecap.com) that Barnett will sign with DREAM and that Strikeforce and M-1 will indeed cross promote with FEG to deliver the epic matchup we’ve all been waiting for.
The bout between Fedor and Barnett is tentatively scheduled for February of 2010, but no official date has been confirmed.
Emelianenko and Barnett were originally supposed to fight at "Affliction: Trilogy" on August 1, 2009, but Barnett tested positive for steroids during a pre-fight drug test and the entire event was scrapped.
At least there will be no testing.

Is that really what fans have been wondering? I used to wonder this, until Barnett got caught doing steroids a SECOND TIME. I really don't care to see him fight ever again, personally. Oh well, I guess it will be fun to see Fedor demolish a guy on roids?

Exactly how I feel, I hope Fedor wrecks him.

I though Fedor's nose and hand were broken, isnt February a little soon...
I dont want to see fedor fight in dream, and dont watch dream live, but i watch the hell out of CBS saturday night fights.
The way I wish this would play out would be
Fedor vs Werdum for title (strip overeem or interim) on CBS
Barnett vs Overeem in dream, winner then has to come clean and fight next in U.S.
Fedor/Werdum vs Barnett/Overeem for strikeforce undisputed HW title
I would love to see it play out like that...
Plus have Rodgers fight BigFoot

I don't understand why everyone thinks that Sylvia and Arlovski were doing poorly before their Fedor fights. Sylvia had only lost in title matches leading up to his fight with Fedor. Whether he dropped off the radar AFTER he got demolished by Fedor isn't relevant to his career BEFORE fighting him. Lots of people's careers take a dive after they fight Fedor. The guy had never lost in a non-title fight in his entire career, and was demolishing Nogueira before the sub.
Arlovski was coming off of a 5 fight win streak and had also only lost in title fights for the last SEVEN YEARS to... Tim Sylvia.
If these are not guys who are worthy of fighting Fedor then the guy should just retire because no one deserves to fight him.

Sylvia, Rogers, and Arlovski all deserved the honor of fighting Fedor IMO. They all showed themselves to be dangerous athletes and all upheld the honor code going into that fight. I.E. they didn't test positive or cheat going into their fight with Fedor.
Barnett is a different story. There was a time that I considered him the man to beat Fedor, and I would have gladly cheered when he did. Now, he still has the potential to beat Fedor, but the win will not be worth anything IMO. He cheated too many times. He cannot be trusted. He was a great fighter, but he's tarnished any respect I had for him.

I dislike Barnett a fair bit, because of roids and basically his general attitude.
But IMO, you guys are pretty stupid if u dont want this fight to happen. It will be one of the best fights of the century.
Sure Barnett will quite possibly be on roids, but it will be one of the greatest fights ever.

It most definitely would have been. I don't want to watch guys punch and choke each other for the sake of punching and choking each other, though. To me, fighting is about much more than that.

The dude should be straight up suspended from the entire sport for at least a year and then only re-licensed after passing a mandatory drug test. As for me, even if he did all that and then defeated Fedor in the greatest fright of all time, I would still not support him.
