Another ban...

News is that the UFC has banned Clinch Gear (Dan Henderson's MMA Clothing line) after UFC 105. There was a good amount of Clinch Gear shown throughout the CBS Strikeforce broadcast, but most likely this is the byfactor of failed negotiations between Dan Henderson and the UFC.
There is also a strong rumor that the UFC has banned RVCA after they sponsored Fedor and appeared on the CBS Strikeforce card as well, though the brand has close ties with BJ Penn, so it would definitely be an interesting scenario if the rumor is true.
Update: a well-placed source within the mma apparel industry indicates that they have heard the same as well, regarding RVCA. Will keep you guys updated.

This is why I hate the UFC and Dana White.

It's a cruel world where fighters choose their own profession. I don't want to hear jack about pay. If I don't like what I'm getting paid, I get another job.

Then you find something you love and the boss takes away your ability to have overtime pay ect. to feed his own insecurity. We'll see what BJ does...and good luck signing hendo. Shouldn't a man who "cares about mma" want to help companies that support the sport he "loves" grow?

And in the end...it's ultimately your choice what you do. If you want that overtime and your current boss doesn't allow it, take your services elsewhere to someone who does allow it.

Should Apple and Dell not go head to head in computer sales because they both support the growth of computers?

Didn't the UFC ban Hayabusa about a month ago? I saw Kang with a Hayabusa logo on the back of his trunks, and was wondering what the punishment would be?

Look at sports...NHL and the KHL, the KHL has been poaching players from the NHL, should the NHL ban bauer because they sponsor the KHL? No, bauer creates jobs, and adds to their players earnings. The UFC is trying their hardest to keep the UFC as the big fish in the small pond. They bash anything thats not pro UFC, and they try and stamp it out. The big reason everyone comes up with for the UFC's crappy pay scale is "well the sponsors", well the UFC is getting rid of them if they try and get their product on anything other then the UFC. 5.5 million people watched the card on CBS, whens the last time 5.5 watched a UFC ppv? How many of the people that watch the UFC's ppv's watch every ppv? Well over half I would guess, that means your product is only reaching the same audience over and over. Keep sipping that kool aid...

If the UFC wants to ban fighter sponsors, I am ok with that. However, this is as long as they do not ban a currently signed UFC fighter's sponsor without compensating the fighter for the loss.

I can understand banning Clinch but RVCA? That does not make any sense. So what they sponsored Fedor. RVCA is not M1. Fedor does not own them. Why get rid of them? Seems childish to me.

I'm not sipping anything. I'm reading it in black and white. You can disagree with their business model all you want, but if you deny the fact that it's working, you're flat out wrong.

Lots of things work but it doesn't mean they are right to do...

It boggles my mind that you guys don't get it, oh hey we're going to take all of your revenue sources pay you a decent-poor wage, if you don't like it find a new job...but oh wait we're on the verge of a monopoly and we'll do our best to crush whatever company tries to make your life better...so take whatever we feel like giving you. Crap man, big time crap.

Not everything is candy canes and rainbows in the real world, either. Like I said previously, if fighters don't like it, they can go elsewhere. It's a vicious cycle but it's a necessary one, IMO.
