Well Chael, you've had a good run here the last couple of fights. Looks like it may end in a hurry, though.

I am just glad that Nate is up for this and not pulling the "I only want the title fight" card like others. Way to be a professional!

Strange they didn't do Marquardt vs. Belfort instead since Anderson doesn't seem to want to fight either guy at the moment.I do suppose that Joe Silva and crew don't want to risk killing off one of their top contenders with a match like that, with the additional possibility of the winner of the bout getting injured.

A Nate vs. Chael fight is kind of a win-win.If Nate wins,he's most likely going to do it impressively and you've just gotten him more air time to hype a rematch with Anderson. If Chael wins, you have a new contender who's never fought Anderson before. And it leaves Vitor around to fight Anderson or whoever.

Ought to be a decent scrap.

Brian.

I think they are putting Belfort against Anderson first because his marketability as a contender to Anderson Silva might never be higher. If they put him against Marquardt there is a very good chance he would lose. Belfort, devastating as he is, has been inconsistent through his career, and might not be able to work his way back up if he lost to Nate. This way they get a highly marketable fight between two KO artists, and the next challenger ready and waiting.
I think Marquardt rightfully should be the next fight against Anderson Silva, he couldn't have done more to deserve another shot. On top of that Belfort hasn't even fought at Middleweight in the UFC yet. On the flip side I'm amped for a Belfort/Silva fight, can't complain to much about that. Also Marquardt fighting Sonnen could be a good thing assuming he gets past him. Chael is a really really tough fight and it should be highly competitive, and will give Nate that much more experience and confidence should he win (I believe he will). If Sonnen wins I'm not sure if he'd be next in line or not, but he would be right up there, depends on how he would win.
