A heavyweight showdown between Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Cain Velasquez has been confirmed for UFC 108 in Las Vegas.

The possibility of the bout arose last week when Nogueira’s manager talked about the fight to SportTV. MMAWeekly.com has since been able to confirm the bout with multiple sources, who say it will happen on Jan. 2. ...Read More

IMO- Velasquez will get a stoppage or a ko over Nogueira by the second round.

Should be the fight of the night! That is a good match up.

Cain knockout Nog in the second? Really? Cause Nog's been finished once in all his fighjts including people like Fedor, Cro Cop and Barnett, and Cain has some knockout power that he discoverd since after the Rothwell fight? There is absolutely no way this happens! Nog by tapout or unanimous decision.

man...that's hard. i think cain will pull it out but i hate picking against nog and it could easily go the other way. nog's striking is better than cains (except for fight against mir) and obviously his jits is better but cain's wrestling is so dominant that it could neutralize nog on the ground....

I think Nog pulls off the submission if Cain takes it to the ground and if it stays on the feet it will be a war with either taking the decision, no TKO or KO

No body is getting knocked out here. A decision could go either way (I think Nog would take it) and if there is a finish it will be Nog by submission.

Velasquez doesn't have the power to finish Nog and I think he'll be out classed on the ground. Remember how easily Nog swept randy? I think the same will happen to Velasquez and he'll be a fish out of water on his back.

I just really want Valasquez to take it in a KO or stoppage. Most likely will go to the judges but I am still going to say the same thing.

I see an ass whooping coming for both Nogs.

Cain by being faster and more athletic. He will stay away from Nog on the ground like he did with Rothwell and just work GNP during openings.

I'm definitely cheering for Nog.....

- Nog doesn't break, and Cain pressures constantly with furious action.... I could see Cain can winning for sure.

Essentially, I wouldn't be surprised to see either guy win and I won't even be upset to see either guy beat the other because they are both awesome.

This is going to be ugly for sure. Going to be a war and NOG is going to drag it into the deep end and submit Cain late in the third. Cain has the skills and the power to dominate a top position ground fight but he will need the ref to step in to finish. No clear KO for Cain in this one. Thats why I have to go with
NOg
