A heavyweight battle between Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic and Ben Rothwell appears as if it may be in the works for UFC 111.
A report has recently surfaced on the extremely popular mixed martial arts forum, The Underground, stating that the two are expected to face off in Australia.

Perfect fight for Mirko IMO.
he doesnt really have to worry about rothwell taking him down.hopefully ben will think he can stand with mirko.i really want mirko to win this fight.

You could be right. I hope he does try to stand with Mirko.
That being said, Rothwell actually has a pretty dominant mount with some heavy GnP. If he does decide to take Mirko down he could end it quickly

Remember the days when CC would go up against someone like Rothwell and you wouldn't think twice about picking Mirko to ko him. I miss those days. I'm actually gonna have to think about this one

i gave up on Mirko..and plus Ben is from WI and i hate bettin against fellow Wisconsinites..but i think Big Ben got this one..Mirko too old to throw a LHK and he's keeps duckin his head(like he did to JDS)..and Big Ben gonna uppercut him right in the button...

Given how Cro Cop has looked lately, I have to say that Ben will win the fight, niether a world class fighters anymore (to an extent). I think Ben would likely UD him.

I don't want to say I've given up on Mirko, but in this case the only thing that is giving me any inclination to pick Mirko is how many shots Rothwell took in the fight with Cain. I hate to say it, but my pick might be against the guy that looked worse in their last fight, which might be hard to determine.
