According to Ed Soares, Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort for the UFC Middleweight Championship at UFC 108 is not happening. Soares, Silva's manager, said "The latest is he's not fighting Jan. 2," Soares said. "That's not going to happen. He won't be ready." When he's ready is not yet known but insisted the progress was ahead-of-schedule, and Silva fans have no cause for concern.

I saw this coming with the way they've both come off in recent interviews. Seems to me that they don't want to fight each other at all.

I said something like this in another post, where carwin/lesnar was moved to 108 that silva/belfort might be pushed back or taken off.

Thank god. Vitor didn't deserve a shot at the belt anyway.

Maybe not, but there are really no other contenders in the division that Anderson hasn't already beat. I wouldn't be very interested in seeing Marquardt or Hendo rematch him.
I still think Henderson has the best style to beat him, but I don't think he will be able to pull it off. I would rather see Anderson fighting someone new, personally. Especially if he's planning on retiring any time in the next few years.
