Dana White says he is “putting together a proposal” for former UFC light-heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell, who recently finished a run on popular television show Dancing With the Stars and is now apparently itching for a return to action.

In a recent interview with Sportsnet, UFC president White was asked if a match between Chuck Liddell and Mark Coleman is on his mind, pitting as it would two veterans of the sport against each other.Dana

“I’ve never even thought about Liddell-Coleman. I am more focused right now on what to do with Liddell,” replied White, who has repeatedly stated that he does not want Liddell to return to fighting, given his recent loss of form and run of stoppage losses.

For everything Liddell has done for the UFC helping get it to mainstream, I think the least they can do is give him one last fight and it be against Coleman so he can atleast go out with a win. I think if Liddell, would be allowed to fight Coleman and win that he would be content with hanging it up. I'm a huge fan of Liddell and would love to see him come back and have a solid run, but I don't think he has it left in him, but I think he could have one more in him to go out with a win and I believe the Coleman fight would do that

My guess is Chuck will NEVER be content to hang it up. In every interview I've ever heard he talks about how he thinks he can keep going until he's 50+. The fact of the matter is he just likes to fight and he's one of those guys who will always have that "puncher's chance".

I don't see him fighting for any promotion other then the UFC, and if they ultimately keep him away from the cage then he'll probably learn to adapt to retirement. But if the choice were his, I doubt we'd hear him even speak of retirement any time soon.

What about Chuck vs. Kimbo? They are both up there in age and we know Kimbo has a glass chin. That fight would make LOTS of money!

ok i'm not a big fan of coleman-liddell, but i do think that they should have a master's seriouse. make it tournament style. 8 men. catch weight. over the course of a year and a half. it might be cool to see.. but i dont know that it'd bring in a lot of money

I like the idea of Chuck coaching the next Ultimate fighter. They could have Coleman as the other coach and build the fight up that way. It would be a decent payday for both fighters and the fight at the end of the series could actually be quite interesting.

A match against Coleman would put the odds in Liddells favor, but it's really hard to sleep on Coleman.
You just never know what in the hell is going to happen when Coleman fights.
At this point I would be more interested in seeing another match with Tito, but Coleman may be a safer bet for Chuck.

I'm willing to bet that this "proposal" has NOTHING to do with fighting.

It's the reporters suggesting it.

Does not make it a bad idea of 2 champion legends going at it.
hopefully Joe Silva is into it.
