At today's "GIG TOKYO" show in Shinjuku Face, Shooto promoter Sustain revealed the addition of a major fight to the rapidly approaching Vale Tudo Japan '09 (10/30). Previously announced participant Rumina Sato (24-14-2) has found an opponent in former DREAM Featherweight Grand Prix semifinalist Joe Warren (2-1). The bout will be contested at 63kg (~139 lbs.) under "VTJ Rules," which include legal stomps and knees to the head of a downed opponent.

Sato used to be one of the most submission grapplers there were with minimal sub defense. I wouldn't be suprised if Warren were to submit him but I think Warren will pound Sato out.

I never thought I'd see the day when someone doesn't know who Sato is. I guess I've just been a fan for so long. At this point Warren will probably smash poor Sato.

I was soooooo disappointed when I read it closer and said Sato, not Soto. Warren vs Soto would be such a sick matchup but Sato is on his way out. I consider the Moon Wolf one of the reasons I got into MMA having seen his submission highlights around sherdog or youtube when I first got into the sport. Up until around then I followed K-1 way closer than I ever have but was introduced to Pride by a buddy.

It's a good style match up for Warren to learn from... but I think he will dominate the way past his prime Sato. I kind of don't like this fight just because I am a Sato fan and this is just the latest match where he is in way over his head. The guy is a legend and should be treated a little better than that.
