Looking at Hendo's record is like looking at a who's who in fight for the last ten years. He has always fought in the best promotions and has IMO the most impressive list of fights of any fighter in mma history, and unlike many from his era has shown no signs of slowing down.
Dan is so old school he is the one who brought Randy Couture into mma. The guy has fought in wars from his early UFC days to his present run in the UFC, with his Rings: King of Kings (still the most impressive tournament field in history) and PRIDE fights adding at least as much glory to his name. Regardless of what happens now he is one of the top fighters in mma history. I think there are some good matches for him in SF, just as there is in the UFC.
I'd pay to watch him fight: Mousasi Babalu
I'd pay to watch him murder: Jake Shields Frank Shamrock Nick Diaz Jason Miller Robbie Lawler
Heck, I'd even pay to watch him get murdered by:
Fedor- which btw isn't that far fetched. Hendo has fought quite a few open weight matches.

Can you imagine if strikeforce signed him. If they also got page that would be crazy. An organization that has Fedor, Rampage, and Hendo would almost rival the ufc... of course strikeforces other fighters would get more popular with people tuning in for Fedor and Hendo.

Conspiracy theorist would suggest that ufc is wanting to protect Silva from the one true guy who stylistically could beat him. But honestly i think Hendos expectations were just to high. Hope to see him on dynamite 2009. Hendo vs Moussasi would be an absolute war no one else would really give him a run for his money.

The problem is though that people DON'T tune in to see Fedor or Hendo, and Rampage is only a slightly better draw. Most of his fights that drew large audiences were fights against big drawing names like Liddell and Griffin. When I went to watch the Rampage Liddell fight people were calling him "the black dude who slammed that guy"
As MMA fans we take for granted that these guys are great fighters to watch, but the general public doesn't know that because they don't follow the sport, and these guys haven't been hyped up at all in the media. That will probably change for Rampage after the A team movie, but Fedor and Hendo are pretty much completely unknown to the average joe.

I know Henderson is a bit small, but couldn't this mean a Henderson vs Fedor fight? IMO Henderson is one of the top p4p fighter. Has Fedor ever mentioned cutting to 205? I wouldn't expect Hendo to move up to heavyweight but if they met in the middle... Yeah that would be a fight I would like to see!
I'm pretty sure he has said that he doesn't want to cut weight in the past. You would think that if he were willing to do so he would've done it for the Lindland fight. I wouldn't mind seeing it happen, but I really don't think he has any intention of ever doing it. He has enough prospects at HW anyways. He is only contracted for 3 fights with M-1, and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him talking to the UFC once he's not contractually bound to M-1 and their crazy demands.

it's been quite on the front the last day or so no new news about this maybe their hammering out a deal i don't know why hendo would wanna leave the ufc
but then again u have okami and nate up their this is the ufc fault for having silva face griffin
log jam the middle weight class up with contenders now their taking their ticket and waiting in line impatiently for a title shot silva should have faced nate or maia in aug then hendo in nov that's what should have happened
all i can say is next tuf coaches should be another pair of middleweight contenders
but i still call the coaches next year to be tito ortiz and randy couture
just watch
but i hope hendo stays, i wann see him fight again live in the ufc

I think he belongs in the UFC but its alright if he parts, it helps spread big names elsewhere and create some more awesome fights, this is far from all bad at least Mousasi has someone to fight now

Correct me if I'm wrong here but isn't Fedor a part owner of M-1? I don't believe he's "contractually bound" in the traditional sense for a certain amount of fights with M-1. I think it's more like he's part owner of a company that sponsors and represents him. For Fedor M-1 is more like a management team or an agency working for him than a traditional promotion that he works for.
I think the 3 fights he is contractually bound to are with Strikeforce (brought to you by M-1).

I hope it all works out in Hendo's favor.
i'd love to see more good fighters go to strikeforce so that another organization can actually grow.
