It appears as though longtime Xtreme Couture striking coach Shawn Tompkins will be leaving the world famous Las Vegas based gym in the very near future.

That was my first thought as well. I'm sure we'll find out more as time goes on.

This would be a horrible blow to a camp that has been fizzling out this past year. Couture losing 2, Griffin losing 2, Kampmann getting KOed. Although there lightweights are still going strong.
Plus will this have any effect on Vitor Belfort's approaching fight (I am assuming, with all the comments Tompkins makes about Vitor's Training, that Tompkins has had a big part of training the Phenom while Vitor has been in Vegas.

From a purely technical perspective, I think this is a good thing. All of the guys Tompkins trained from the start (Stout, Hominick, etc) all have the same fundimental flaws in their game, and it shows him to be a less than stellar striking coach. Hes better than some, but with a caliber of fighter that Couture has in his stable, he could definitely stand to do better.

It was speculation based on the timing of the issue. Nothing more.

Damn, too bad for the guys at EXC. Maybe Shawn is going to open his own gym? He has the name to do it now.
