I was impressed with Takimoto. I'd never seen him before. With a 2-3 record coming into the fight, and both wins by Decision, I figured Galesic (6-1, 5 TKOs) would hand him his head. This could have been considered the upset of the night, but... well...

Zelg is touted as a potentially great fighter and has looked really good up until now. This was definately an upset and I was really suprised at how good Takimoto looked. It's probably the first time I've seen him look like he 100% wanted to be in the fight.

Def a great fight... I thought Zelg would take it all the way, but that seemed to be the theme of last night...

The kid's only 23, he's got a ton of room to improve... Could ya'all imagine if CC had started training MMA and not just kickboxing when he was in his early 20's... YIKES

I think Zelg could have easily taken it, but for some reason, he didn't stand up out of the open guard, which would have been the smart thing to do. Oh well, it was still a good fight.

Exactly . He kept diving back into his guard when he could have stood back up. I almost thought they were gonna stop it when he was stomping Takimoto's face, but he survived and came back. Still, bad strategy on Zelg's part.

Fighter records dont mean much in Pride . O-4 Yuk don sik would probably walk through Galsic , Takimoto has fought tough comp also . Galzig fought mainly weak comp , and good style matchups .

Ya technically he lost but who cares Zelg wuz the shit that night, that flurry of combos followed by that stomp was the tightest shit ive ever seen. He shud go too the UFC, with all the TUFers they could feed him youll have a whole ultimate knockouts show featuring Zelg.

It was clear that makoto takimoto's doctor stoppage loss to Gegard Moussasi in the Bushido tournament lit a fire under his ass.

he clearly gave up that fight. When he was being walked back to his corner so the docs could check it out he looked utterly defeated. Hidehiko Yoshida looked pissed he gave up.

This fight was an upset.

I'm a Zelg fan, and had him winning this fight on paper, but pulling guard against a omlympic judo gold medalist isn't always the smartest thing to do to improve your chances...
