Despite prior reports that Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion Alistair Overeem would face former UFC fighter Sam Hoger at Golden Glory's 10/17 event, the promotion has ultimately chosen Tony Sylvster to face Overeem instead. If Overeem wins he could defend his title against Fedor in early 2010 pending Fedor beating Brett Rogers, but Overeem can't overlook Sylvster-he's 8-1 over the last 4 years with the only loss being to Chris Tuchscherer.

When is he going to defend the belt, who cares about these other fights. When you got the strap you should be defending it.

I you've seen Sylvester fight then yes Overeem can overlook him. Why is this fight even happening,It's ridiculous. Sylvester got tooled by Tuchscherer so what do you think Overeem will do. Overeem via KO rd 1.

After this and the K-1 WGP, so probably early next year.
