“I have nothing against Jason. I think he’s a tough fighter, but I’m gonna go out there and beat the crap of him on the 7th, ya know? Jason likes to talk and I’m gonna go out there and once we’re in the cage, you’ll see what happens. I’ve certainly prepared on my end. When I get through Jason Miller, then we’ll see who they bring at me. Seems like they’re bringing in some big middleweights so there’s lots of possibilities. I feel the best that I have ever felt. I’m going to go out there and try to smash Mayhem. I’ve been working on my stand-up, wrestling and jui jitsu, every aspect. I’m gonna go out there and make a statement and beat the living crap out of him.”
– Former Elite XC welterweight champion Jake Shields tells FightHype.com that he’s going to steamroll former ICON Sport middleweight champion Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller at Strikeforce: “Fedor vs. Rogers” from the Sears Centre on Nov. 7 live on CBS.

I agree that Shields takes this one and will most likely be able to finish Miller. Should be a great fight regardless.

I like Shields to win, but I don't see him smashing Miller at all.

Agreed, Miller is scrappy...GSP beat the crap out of him but didn't finish him.
I think Shields wins but most likely by decision.

How is Shields going to smash him? Mayhem has been submitted once in his career, and that was seven years ago. He's fought Jacare, who is a better BJJ practitioner and lasted on the ground and took it to a decision.(A fight he didn't seem to be taking seriously.)
I don't see Shields taking him down, nor do I see him winning the fight on the feet.

shields will submit him. shields standup is lacking but its not horrible, he will get it to the ground and sub him. jake shields has some of the best ground/sub game in the sport imo. i dont see miller gettin away froms shields subs. but i think it will be a good exciting fight. i cant wait.

Shields aint smashing anybody at the level of Miller. He couldnt even smash the bum he fought on bully beatdown!
If Jake wins this, its a UD via top control. I think Jason has better stand up, so if he can keep the fight standing he has a legit chance. Obviously Jake has the advantage on the ground, but I dont think its as big an advantage as people are making out. His GnP sucks, and Miller has very good sub defence. Shields is good, but hes no Jacare on the floor, I think hes going to struggle to keep Mayhem down.
Logical/head - Shields UD
Heart/Gut - Mayhem UD

first of all bully beatdown isnt something you should judge a fighter by... ever. imo jake shields has some of the best ground/sub in mma at this time. hes great against strikers i.e. daley, lawler. his ground game is too good imo. he is always aware of subs. either way im excited as hell for this fight i think itll be a great one.

Shields is good and all, but I don't know, I just see him fight and I think 'God you're overrated' dunno, just becoz Jacar didn't finish Miller doesn't mean that Shields CANT but I still don't think he will. I see him trying to use a similar technique to the one he used on Okami and try and hold him against the cage for three years, I mean rounds.
Fud it i'll go with Miller, I think he'll be able to defend the subs and keep Shields on the outside and unable to get it to the ground for long periods and get the UD

All I'm saying is that if Jacare can lock in a leg lock and can't submit Mayhem, I don't see Shields doing it.

Either way, I see this one going the distance.
I'll be rooting for Mayhem, though. Hopefully he was serious when he said he was done goofing off.
