This is the new phenom, i think hes gonna be unstoppable. KO power, incredibly quick and overwhelming striker, Strong as hell, outstanding grappler and we havent even seen his ground game yet, who can beat this guy. I think he will soon be the no. 1 light heavyweight, i think hell take it too shogun next and win and I highly doubt chuck or hendo can stand with him. Cud this be the chosen one who will rise up and dethrone the god off MMA himself, Fedor. I think he can , hes got the strength so he can probably grapple with fedor and avoid the takedown, i mean did u see him when arona tried too, he just planted his feet too the ground and arona cudn even budge em. I think hes got exactly wut it takes to beat Fedor, we all know dat fedors strength is his submissions, Sokou's takedown defense seems great so maybe he can avoid getting taken down, and as for standing i think hes got fedors number. We know from Fedor vs. Fujita dat fedor can be rocked it is possible, the only thing fujita did wrong was that he didn create distance between them so fedor quickly clinched before he took any more hits. If Sokou's grappling and takedown defense is good enuf too stop fedors sambo and he can keep it standing, and he rocks fedor with some shots create enuf distance too prevent the clinch and then seal the deal with some nice high kicks or dat nasty uppercut off his, i think he can do it. Hes got the best chance at dethroning fedor IMO.

right now, lets just wait and see if he beats shogun before we have him move up to heavyweight and defeat fedor.

but one thing is for sure with Sokoudjou, he is for real.

I wouldnt get too wild on this guy yet. Maybe if he can beat Shogun we could get a little bit exciting, as for him beating Fedor, lets not get ahead of ourselves.

That said, if he did beat Fedor, then it would finally give Cro Cop the oppertunity to be the Pride Champ he has always deserved to be.

When he beat Rogerio I thought, ok he might have gotten lucky, but Arona too?

I guess a skeptic could say it's coincidence, but... I think think this guy could make some noise. Then again, we might not have seen his weakness(es) yet.

just remember this is the guy that was legitimatly outclassed by a can (Glover Teixeira) in WEC only 6 months or so ago. he lossed to TKO by strikes in under 2 minutes.

plus arona and lil nog had LONG lay offs from MMA before fighting him (over a year each).

he def looks like he could have a few big wins left in him tho. i hope he gets another big match like overeem or shogun

wow just read ur post. claiming he would beat fedor lol? come on this is sherdog whitebelt quality

Yeah, with Serra upsetting St. Pierre, everyone forgot about Sokoudjou. This guy is the real deal, I am so surprised that he KO Arona with ease. Even Wanderlei had trouble beating Arona and this guy made it look easy.

Damn, what are his hands made of?!

I agree that I'm not totally sold yet either. How long before lil Nog did he start with Team Quest? It's likely the reason for his improvement

Man, he's proven that first fight wasn't a fluke. I'm gonna have to start betting on him from now on.

Holy....shit. Before their match even began, for some reason, I could just tell that this guy was going to beat Arona (despite betting on Arona). I am going to have to agree with the original poster to some extent. I don't know if he is ready to take on the world yet, but he outclassed two top 10 fighters in every way,. I was dumbfounded after this fight. This is the match I was msot excited for on this card, and now I know why. ******* wow!

He displayed some solid leg kicks and a good takedown defence. I can't believe some nobody came out of nowhere and did 2 major upsets back to back. Damn!

THose leg kicks were brutal. He almost dropped Arona just from those chops.

I agree. I bet against him twice and lost. This guy looks like a spoiler.

He reminds me of Rampage a few years back when he was hungry. He came out of smaller shows in the US, went to Japan as an unknown and took it by storm! Sokoudjou is doing the same.

Just like sakaraba was the Gracie killer, I think they should call him the BTT TERMINATOR!

If you look at the fact that the man's 23 years old, I think that means he only has room for improvment, and probably more than a couple big wins...

His striking is very solid (awesome leg kicks) and I was amazed in the way he planted and didn't let Arona get the TD (must be from his Judo training)...

I think this guy is the real deal, but to go as far as saying he'll beat Rua or even Fedor is a stretch as of right now.

I would like to see how he reacts to a ultra-aggresive striker like Shogun or Wand even... Someone that will bang with him and test his chin a little...

With all that being said, great fight for Soko

I guess this answers the debate about Arona's chin, eh?

I see Shogun stepping up for the next fight against Sokoudjou
