My plan was, I was going to stand with him as long as I could. Because I wasn't really going to shoot on him, just because that's what he was expecting. And then if he came in flurrying, I was just going to bodylock him, take him down and crucifix him. You know how Babe Ruth used to point to the fence and say, "I'm going to hit this home run"? I did exactly what I wanted: take no hits, get it to the ground and just win.

How surprised were you that the fight wasn't stopped in the first round before the bell?
I was surprised. You could even see me yelling at Herb Dean, "Come on, ref."

But the thing is, there's a lot of people; there's a lot of money. Kimbo's the only one that I know that had an entourage there; he actually had his family there, his management, while the rest of us kind of had to suffer. The UFC made, we'll say, different concessions for Kimbo. I think he had a media room. Kimbo's definitely, I guess we'll say, special. I don't see the specialness fighting-wise, but more for TV-wise. He puts butts in the seats.

I'm not defending Roy because his inferiority complex is bugging me too, but Kimbo is not exactly going to put butts in the seats fighting the way he did either.

I don't think it is just Roy (or will be) but I get the sense that the special treatment Kimbo is apparently getting is or will start to piss people off.

Your right Kimbo didnt fight so well either.but its largely not his fighting that puts butts in the seats.its his mere presence.people are always curious when hes fighting regardless if hes winning or losing.thats why i know he'll be in the UFC even if he doesnt win this show

also in regards to how kimbo fights/fought

kimbos style is FAR FAR superior to putting butts in the seats.rather than nelsons lay n pray

people want to see kimbo KO somebody or kimbo get KOd.by somebody.thats why he'll always put butts in the seats

the krucfix is not LNP but Roy certainly could have put a little bit more into those punches from that position.

Nelson seems keenly aware that he took away a big moneymaker from the UFC and Spike TV by eliminating Kimbo (at least for the moment) from the competition. But hey, he advanced in the tournament and didn’t risk an injury that might prevent him from winning the whole thing. That’s not fighting hard, that's fighting smart.
yet unimpressive.

Or he should have just repeatedly flicked Kimbo in the ear.

Even more reason as to why I hate kimbo. Special treatment because the whole TUF 10 is about kimbo, which is bs.

You could even see dana was pissed because his special guy lost.

I would not go so far as calling it lay n pray because I have always thought the crucifix is an awesome move and with some harder shots like what Hughes was doing to BJ it is amazing.

You also have to give it to him that he did call what he was going to do when he was talking with the guys on the deck about the crucifix.

They way he was not really trying to hit him hard was pissing me off. I can understand injury concerns this is a different kind of fight where you have to worry about getting banged up before your next fight.

But did he think he would break his hand by hitting him a little harder, it is not like the target was moving and he could not have expended that much energy.

AND I think most people expected Roy to win so he could at least make it unquestionable by dropping harder shots or going for a submission, he did not even attempt one if I can remember. Acting like it should have been stopped in the first round when there are only seconds left and Kimbo is not tapping or out cold is retarded.

I know it is dumb that there are double standards but he needs to watch what he says now when he is not in the house or Dana is going to hate him no matter what he does in the show.

But Maybe he does not care because he knows Dana already hates him.
