UFC Hall of Fame inductee Mark 'The Hammer' Coleman spoke exclusivley to CageReport as he gets ready for his scheduled bout against former UFC champion Tito Ortiz at UFC 106. Despite being 10 years the elder in the bout Coleman maintains that in Mixed Martial Arts you are only as old as you feel "My age isn't holding me back at all, I've been working out in the gym and I'm as fast and as strong as I've ever been. Most of these other fighters, fight around three times a years where as I've paced myself." said the UFC veteran.

'The Hammer' acknowledged the importance of bout claiming that a win will surely move him up the ladder in the light heavyweight divison and one step close to the title "This without a doubt is one of the biggest fights of my career, you never know what the UFC are going to do and Tito is a big name - a win here could put me in line for the title".

Out of that division, he thinks one win over Ortiz will get him a title shot?

If Mark Coleman beats Tito (won't happen) and gets a title shot afterwards (won't happen) then I'll eat a pound of my own crap (won't happen).

Tito has done nothing in recent years to make anyone think he'll beat Coleman easily.

Ha, you should have an avatar bet with yourself. If you lose, you make your av a picture of you eating the pound of c**p.

You could get Joe Rogan to watch you fulfill that bet.

But yeah, I agree with Postman, Tito is not a ticket to a title shot.

He said it would PUT HIM IN LINE FOR A TITLE SHOT! He never said he deserved a shot with the win. If he does win, hes absolutely right, this will PUT HIM IN LINE. Of course with the competition at Ligh Heavyweight he will be knocked out from that line right after a loss to someone like Thiago Silva, Matt Hammil etc..

In all actuality, EVERYONE is "in line" for a title shot. It's up to them to win to advance in the line, or lose and go to the back (or drop back a few spots) of the line.

"I've been working out in the gym"

Awesome news. This is the training secret that only UFC title contenders know.

I agree that the winner should face Franklin. Maybe even the loser, if that is Ortiz.
