UFC President Dana White assures fans that Spike TV ratings monger Kimbo Slice will have to prove that he can compete inside the Octagon if he wants to remain on the company payroll. Dana says Kimbo will fight again in UFC after TUF but makes it clear that "the ratings do not influence our decision. The guy can either fight or not." TUF 10 has seen record-high ratings to this point thanks in part to Kimbo.

I call bs on this one. It's about ratings and drawing fans, so UFC will keep him after TUF.

Its just like Tito, he's a draw. But I want to see them fight in hopes they both get beat badly.

You can't say that yet because you don't know how he does on the show. If he beats Nelson and wins one more fight maybe he deserves to have a chance in the UFC whether he wins the whole thing or not.

I say regardless of how Kimbo does on TUF,he'll probably get at least 1 PPV fight for the UFC.

I don't buy it either. The UFC always has their financial interest in mind and will always bend their own rules to maximize their profit. Otherwise Ken Shamrock and various other fighters would not have stuck around as long as they did.

I mean, I con't blame them. I just wish they didn't try to pull the wool over our eyes or take us for fools. The UFC is for the best fighters and fighters that will make the organization a lot of money, but they keep trying to sell the notion that it's all about performance. It's not.

i still think kimbo will be in ufc,
hell i wouldn't be surprised if kimbo is too big for tuf finale card and he winds up fighting on the jan 2nd card along side rashad evans and team jackson in one of the main card fights

If he is, I see him fighting cans and getting lots of second chances until (if) he establishes himself with a decent record.

Of course it's about ratings lol. Kimbo is getting a fight whether he gets demolished or not. There's no way the UFC doesn't capitalize on his fame.

They'll most likely give him one of the football players for his finale fight so that he has a solid chance of a win.

Who does Dana think hes fooling??

We know just as well as Dana that Kimbo is a huge cash cow.if Kimbo brings in the ratings than its only a matter of time before hes on a PPV

i think kimbo beats nelson... after reading a recent interview with nelson, i got the vibe he was sorta saying that he lost

nelson said things like he matched up better against other fighters, he wasnt "looking" for the kimbo fight (which many other guys were)...called the kimbo fight a meal ticket for other guys... i just felt he was implying he lost and was sayin how he wasnt matched up right etc...

This is just like junie browning, only not as big of a draw.

I mean you can't honestly tell me UFC would not capitalize on kimbo's draw?

I feel all TUF 10 is just about Kimbo. The advertisements had kimbo, they waited to bring kimbo out on the show, and announced his fight on the end of the episode.

Please clarify this. The way this is worded implies, if I'm reading it correctly, that Kimbo isn't as big a draw as Junie?

Haha I think I worded that wrong or something.

Like they brought Junie back in the UFC because he was a draw on TUF even though he got beat down on the show.

Kimbo is a bigger draw than junie and UFC brought back Junie but they wouldnt bring back kimbo, I dont buy that.

I think if kimbo goes 0-3 he will get his walking papers, Dana is just saying we will see him fight after the show is done, just like they do with most TUF fighters every season. Anyone remember Danny Abaddi?

haha danny abaddi...i do remember him

everyone gets their chance atleast after TUF to fight...those with less marketability are cut quicker

i think amir sadollah is the weakest marketing guy they have had...thats why they kept puttin his fights off and gave him those silly clips between commercials to record and stuff
