this is a HUGE fight for TUF and the ratings game. no one on the show seems high on roy at all, its almost like they dont know who he is, in fact im pretty damn sure rampage had no clue. i was really hoping kimbo would get at least one W on the show, but it seems highly unlikely now, although should he win, that would be a huge win for him and would make him an instant choice for a fight on the season finale show.

I think this should be the most watched tuf show ever. I know that I'm hooked. Hopefully Kimbo was worked that take down defense enough.

Yeah, I hope Kimbo is good enough to at least make this a competitive fight cuz I think he's trying real hard at MMA and I'd hate to see his will broken if he suffers a second embarrassing loss in a row.

1st of all, losing to roy nelson would not be embarrassing for kimbo at all, the loss to seth was indeed very embarrassing for slice, but roy is a much more experienced fighter and well rounded, no shame in losing against him IMO.
secondly... do you all really think that Dana would've allowed that fight to be 3rd fight if Kimbo would lose... keep in mind that the ratings are what they are pretty much only cause of the fact that Kimbo is in the show. I don't think Dana wants people to lose interest in the show, wich IMO I think would happen if Kimbo was to lose right away. That being said, Kimbo via KO

i was thinking the same thing at first, but as long as there is drama involving him in the house ratings will still be ok. people are interested in the guy period, plus once they are sucked in after a few episodes i think very few will stop watching just because hes eliminated, although im not saying he wont beat roy, just that the odds arent great.

There is no shame in losing a fight to Roy Nelson, win or lose he will be back for the finale. This is an easy out for the UFC, and will totally justify him getting a real UFC fight. I hope that if he does lose they make the rematch with Petruzelli.

Absolutely. White has never been shy about setting up his biggest fighters to lose. And that's if he has any input on the preliminary matchups.

This is a Win Win for the UFC.
It gives them the biggest fight possible out of all the contestants, even if its the first fight on the show for both of them.
More importantly though it prevents Kimbo from suffering a defeat to one of the lesser known contestants. Even if he loses to Nelson, Dana can feel comfortable bringing him back for another shot in the Finale.

Not that losing to Roy is embarrassing by itself but that there are embarrassing ways to lose. If Kimbo gets submitted quickly, or slammed and KOed in 10 seconds then I'd say that's pretty embarrassing. Or if the fight goes two rounds and Kimbo isn't able to land a single blow, I think that would be embarrassing. Forrest Griffin got embarrassed by Anderson Silva and there's no shame in losing to Anderson necessarily but losing the way Forrest did was just pitiful, he got made to look like a rookie and not an ex-champion. Or Rashad against Machida, also an embarrassing loss. Of course, this is just IMO.

although ive always been a kimbo fan since his youtube and pre-mma days...there are always a lot of haters out there... maybe its just the editting, or maybe its real, but i think kimbo, thus far, has come across as very genuine, nice, hungry, and extremely open minded and willing to learn mma...i hope he wins a few more fans with his portrayal and people give him a chance
i think once he got into mma, he realized real fast "****..these guys can kick my ass"...and rather than bein a dick and acting all tough, he has acknowledged he has a lot to learn and really wants to learn... props to kimbo...win or lose

I guess what I have been thinkin is Kimbo is on like every add for the show so if he losses do they still promote him in that way? Maybe he makes it to the finals after the first 2 fights I think he could have beat 3 of the first 4 fighters so I'm starting to think he might stand a chance of winning
