Left without an opponent for his next fight when Rampage Jackson walked away from the UFC, Rashad Evans said Wednesday that he expects to fight Thiago Silva next, likely some time in December or early next year.
"Thiago Silva is a good fighter, I'd like to fight him and I think he wants to fight me," Evans said. "When I saw him after he fought Keith Jardine, he kind of gave me a nasty look that I interpreted like he wanted to take me on, and I'd like that."

Interesting fight if Evans decides to stay up and strike with Thiago Silva.
It'll be odd to see where the winner lands in the title hunt, considering both are solid top-tier fighters that happen to have devastating losses against the champion.

I wonder if Rashad can force Thiago's supposed BJJ skills out of him, I'd like to see it. I think I may be picking Rashad here because he looks over all faster, just as hard hitting, and with much better footwork. But who knows, Thiago is one of my new Favs.

I think Rashad is faster and more explosive and his wrestling should dictate where the fight takes place. I think he'll be to quick and to powerful. Rashad all day

Rashad's footwork looks awful to me...but I'm no pro. I'd say to pick Rashad for his speed and wrestling ability.

I love the matchup. I'll take Silva all day long. I hope to see the Brazilian lay some punishment on Rashad if this fight goes official.

Rashad will TKO Silva in the 1st. Silva's jaw is definitely suspect.

I would say silvas chin is just as suspect as rashads considering both of their only losses(KO) were both to the current champ and he made them both look really bad

I really see this as Rashad's fight to lose. Coming from Jackson's camp you know Rashad will have a great game plan. Hopefully Rashad will just take this to the ground and earn a stoppage of some sort. I believe Silva has no answer for Rashad's take downs. I just hope Rashad doesn't have an ego trip and decide he's more manly if he try's to knock Silva out. Fighters need to learn to play to their strengths and not get caught up in the hype of earning knock out of the night.

too bad I really wantd to see evans fight Anderson Silva especailly with all the jokes Rashad was making on MMA live about how his "momma" was begging him to stop calling out Andersson. "Rashad, Stop calling Andersson Silva out Rashad! Andersson Silva is crazy Rashad!"

I want Thiago to win this but I think Rashad is a lot faster and could take him down with relative ease. Rashad by UD
