When middleweight slugger Nate Quarry (11-3 MMA, 6-2 UFC) steps into the cage against Tim Credeur (12-2 MMA, 3-0 UFC) on the main card of "UFC Fight Night 19: Diaz vs. Guillard" on Sept. 16, there will be a bit of an old-school feel to the contest.

But despite an apparent striking advantage on the feet and a potential jiu-jitsu deficiency, Quarry said he won't be relying on any particular gameplan to earn a victory.

is there that big of an age difference between the 2 of them? I would have guessed them to be about the same age...

Nate is something like 37, which by the standards of some sports, like the hammer throw, it puts him well into the range of old man strength, as is Credeur.

I just want to know why they are not giving Nate more experienced fighters. MacDonald was the only gatekeeper+ fighter that he has beat in the UFC.

I personally think Nate is overrated and want to see him fight more established UFC fighters to either prove or disprove my theory. I don't count the Franklin and Maia losses against him because they are obviously out of his league, but IMO Nate hasn't fought enough UFC vets for me to conclude whether he is above or below gatekeeper status (though I am thinking below at this point).
