Josh Neer will replace an injured Sean Sherk in a lightweight bout against Gleison Tibau at UFC 104 on Oct. 24 in Los Angeles, according to a source close to the matchup.
Sherk, 36, suffered a shoulder injury in training that will keep him out of the gym for approximately four weeks, according to his manager Monte Cox. The injury is a setback for the former lightweight champion, who is 1-1 in his last two Octagon appearances since failing to recapture the crown from B.J. Penn at UFC 84 in May 2008.

That sucks, I was looking forward to that fight. Neer is a good replacement, I see him losing by UD.

I see them Putting Bader -Red on the main card instead due to Okami and Sonnen putting on not the so much of the visually stunning performances.

well unless neer pulls out a submission or gets great TD defense, I see Tibau just grinding out a decision like Pellegrino did against Neer.

This sucks I was really looking forward to Sherk fighting. Neer is a pretty good replacement. I think Neer is going to put on a very impressive show at 104. His last fight was a disapointing loss and you can tell it upset him so I think he is going to come out and beat Tibau.

Gleison is a pretty big LW, I can easily see him subbing or UDing Neer. When Josh gets put on his back he basically stops fighting and just complains by making strange gestures and allowing himself to be punched in the face. He has even punched himself in the face and complained about that lol. I get that Lay n Pray tactics are frustrating, but this is MMA, not Kickboxing, practice your sprawls and sweeps if you don't like it.

Its not the fact that a guy can take you down that is frustrating. Its the fact that even when the guy on the bottom is doing more damage, attempting subs, and out grappling the top fighter the guy on top gets the decision. Unfortunately this is MMA and the judges are terrible. Not one of them is qualified for their job.

Neer doesn't do that though... He more or less just lays there and complains. I agree that if the guy on the bottom is constantly attacking it should be factored in more heavily than top position with no damage, but I really don't think that argument can be made in Neer's case.

I hope that the Bader fight or the Okami-sonnen fight make it to the main card now, I really hope Neer/Tibau isnt on the main card

losing Carwin and Sherk and getting Rothwell and Neer is straight weak sauce.
last I remeber, Rothwell got bitch slapped (figuratively) by the guy who got beat down by a Sam's Club tire repairman and Neer got bitch slapped (literally) by a guy and couldnt do anything about it except complain in a blog a week later.
the LA card is in need of a serious addition. i live an hour away and i don't even want to go anymore.
balls.
