Bad knee + Staph infection + Frank Mir being the best Mir anyone has ever seen = Nogueira loss

Saturday's Nog will destroy Mir.

If Big Nog fights Mir like he did saturday, I have to go with Big Nog. Just by the looks of it that staph infection was a really big deal in their last fight, I think if they had a rematch, Nog would completely dominate. Nog would beat him up on the stand-up and either knock him out or submit him on the ground. I doubt Mir could have gotten out of that darce choke like Couture did.

QFE. That night Nogueira had alot of the odds against him, but people didn't acknowledge that until now.

Everyone who is saying Nogueira would win second time around is still in denial of how good Brock Lesnar is. Frank Mir appeared to be in the best shape of his life against Lesnar (second time) and got destroyed. It isn't that Mir got lucky against Nog, or Nog was out of shape. It is the new wave of heavyweights, and Lesnar is leading by leaps and bounds. Frank Mir would annihilate Nogueira if they fought again. Just because he looked decent against a well aged Randy doesn't mean he is in the running to take the title. If Tito Ortiz fought and beat Chuck Liddell in a unanimous decision would you be saying Ortiz deserves a rematch against Machida for the title?

I don't understand what you are saying because so much of it is irrelevant to the question at hand.

@ the bolded part

So Nogueira cant beat Mir because Mir lost to Lesnar? Is that really the argument you are using for this match up?!

Also looking great against a fully trained and healthy Couture is loads better than looking great against an injured Nogueira who couldnt complete a full training camp

Nog would imo have problems with Mir on the feet.but i really think Nog could weather the storm and knock him down.Nog is very accurate with his punches.that being said i think he would need to stay out of the clinch with Mir and counter punch.if the takedown is there he should take it and i see Nog showing Mir a thing or two on the ground.

Id take Nog with UD.possibly a TKO

It solidified for me when they said that Nog came in 10 pounds lighter than his fight against Mir... I think a lot of Noguearia's "chin" comes from his conditioning and ability to recover so quickly... Something he was definitley lacking in the Mir fight...

I would absolutley watch this rematch... Mir's a great fighter, but anyone that has followed Noguearia throughout his career could tell that something seemed wrong in that fight

IMO, the results on this poll come from the old "what have you done for me lately" factor. Happens all the time, especially on the P4P discussions.
