"I'm not just going out there and solely thinking I need to get Chris Leben on the ground. That's not going to be the only way for me to win the fight. I'm going to try an be a little bit more patient than I was that last fight. I think that first fight got to me."

Well in general I'd agree with his sentiment, but it is a terrible, terrible idea for somebody whose striking is as limited as his to try and stand with Leben.

He can say whatever he wants, he has shown nothing as far as skills go in any department other than his wrestling pedigree. I don't think for a second he is gonna try to stand and trade with Leben, but I really hope he does.

Leben by KO.

Well if he thinks he is going to stand and trade he will get Ko'ed eventually, but if he can get the fight to the mat i think he can win this fight......It will be boring to watch, but he can win.......

I disagree. I don't think he looked very good at all in this fight. Chris made a stupid mistake throwing so many kicks at a wrestler of his calibre. Up until that point Jake was more or less running away for the first two rounds.

Leben's kicks had nothing to do with him getting choked unconscious. Kicks don't give away positions on the ground. Getting schooled by Rosholt does.

Sure they do. Go to a gym and try to kick at an all american wrestler. See if he doesn't shoot in and take you down.

Rosholt looked good, though. I think he needs to do more sparring in the standup with MMA gloves, though. It was clear he was trying to use a boxing peek-a-boo defense that would normally work with big boxing gloves, but it doesn't work at all with MMA gloves. You could also tell he was defending kicks to the head as though he was wearing 16 oz'ers. Dude's got a ways to go, but if he keeps improving his standup he will definitely be a force to reckon with.

Heh, repeatedly throwing body and headkicks at a top level wrestler is pretty much handing them dominant position. It was a good choke but if you think Rosholt was "schooling" Leben you should re-watch the fight. The reason his corner was telling him that he HAS to get a finish at the end of the second round is because he was losing very decisively.

He's a great wrestler, and it was a nice choke, but I don't think being beaten soundly for 2 rounds and being handed dominant position constitutes a really impressive performance. Not trying to take anything away from Jake, I just thought that he showed more weaknesses than strengths overall.

He's going to have to work on his standup a lot, because I think anyone in the division who watched that fight just learned exactly how to beat him.
