It appears as though Brock Lesnar may be making his first official heavyweight title defense against Shane Carwin at UFC 106. However, when FiveOuncesOfPain.com was able to contact sources close to the promotion, they were unable confirm or deny the report.

Hell yes. I've been waiting for this fight for a long time. Is it possible for this fight to make it out of the first round?! That's the only thing that sucks about paying $55. You just know the main event is going to last like two minutes...but damn it's going to be an exciting two minutes.

IF it goes down at UFC 106 then I imagine it lasting a couple of rounds for sure...2 big wrestlers, Lesnar's GNP wasn't so vicious that he was able to finish Mir all that quickly so I imagine that if Carwin gets into that position he could actually withstand the punishment. Now what is left to be unseen is how Brock would handle being on the recieving end of a GNP.....I imagine a really decent match. Not sure who I would pick.

no way Brock gets on the recieving end of GnP unless he gets dropped and Shane pounces....otherwise CArwin needs to just knock him out on his feet....I don't believe Shane is anywhere near the wrestler Brock is and he was getting taken down by Gonzaga...If he can keep it standing then I think CArwin has a decent chance...otherwise its Brock

i believe it cause it makes alot of sense, they realise Brock would be out of action for too long,so they changed it so he can fight again this year, winner will fight Velasquez

The one thing that would make it legit to me is Carwin likes 3 months' notice before a fight. According to the schedule, 106 would be, from today, roughly 3 months away. And I do think Cain needs one more fight before his shot.

Lucky for Cane. He needs more time to refine his game. If Cheick Kongo could rock him a couple times, it makes sense that Carwin would KO him. If Cain could adopt a more elusive standup, that mixed with good TD's might allow him to beat Carwin. I don't think he'll ever beat Lesnar though. IMO he's very similar but genetically inferior

this topic is starting t pick up steam so it must be real
for one i don't know why the push for it when u have
silva vs hendo and penn vs sanchez instead of this
and for me personnally this is a win/lose scenario for me
lose as in the co main event is gone for oct in la no worthy co main event now who is cain gonna fight now?? only person is herring, or they push back cain and quckly go with a new co main event
and win scenario cause with brock fighting in nov and dec in memphis getting rampage vs evans and kongo vs mir,
the year end event will have 3 options for main event being that of penn vs sanchez, gsp vs swick/kammpman winner, and silva vs hendo or nate/damian winner
with it being year end, best bet is 2 title fights on a card, my guess is gsp vs swick/kammpman won't be that much of a draw it ain't alves or penn lesser none names could damper things has to be gsp fight plus one of the other ones while the 3rd title fight goes for superbowl weekend
