The UFC have taken over the contracts of around twenty Affliction fighters following their collapse last Friday, with rumours beginning to circulate that there could be a few big names involved.
According to InsideFights.com a Zuffa official revealed the news to them earlier this week, with the two promotions coming to the agreement that Affliction would stop promoting MMA events.

20??? That seems like a bit too much. Does Affliction have 20 names that are worthy of competing in the UFC? I'm wondering how many of these are contracts absorbed just so the UFC can dump them. Kind of like the UFC did with Pride.

So if the UFC absorbs the old Affliction contracts, then won't they automotically own Fedor by default?? As well as Andrei Arlovski and Tim Sylvia and Josh Barnett, right?
So are these guys now under UFC contract?

Depends what you mean by worthy. Is George Roop worthy? Or Jake Rosholt?
20 fighters: Fedor Arlovski Buentello Yvel Rothwell Gormley Lil Nog Babalu Mousasi Whitehead Matyushenko Sokodjou (if he's given opponents that he has a chance against) Vitor Belfort Matt Lindland (not that it will happen) Jay Heiron Jason High Dan Lauzon Chris Horodecki LC Davis (WEC) Mark Hominick (WEC)
All those fighters I'd rather see in UFC/WEC than some of the people in their respective divisions.

Fedor is under contract with M-1, on loan to Affliction for two fights. I highly doubt the UFC has acquired his contract. M-1 management probably saw the writing on the wall before Banned and made certain of that.
EDIT: I can't even think of 20 fighters who are signed to Affliction.

Arlovski's contract was up from what i read and attencio said they didnt want to resign him. White said he wasnt interested atm either. very unlikely he is 1 of the 20.
babalu and whitehead are under contract with strike force. not so sure about them.
rothwell vs gormley was listed in another thread as being moved to an upcoming ufc.
i am really looking forward to seeing Rothwell, Belfort and horodecki in the ufc!
i bet alot of current ufc fighters are feeling the pressure to put on a great performance in their next bouts!.

As far as my understanding goes, Fedor's contracts are non transferable. Sylvia and Arlovski aren't signed to Affliction anymore. Mousasi vs Babalu is going to Strikeforce. This leaves Belfort and a handful of others that would be able to compete in the UFC. They can pick up whoever they want, but with some unfavorable matchmaking, a lot of those fighters will be gone after one fight probably.
I think Fedor, Belfort, Mousasi, Babalu, Buentello, Rothwell, Lauzon, Yvel and Horodecki would be awesome additions, I just don't see the UFC being able to secure all those contracts. They will certainly be able to pick up some of the lesser names, but I just don't think that they are gonna get Fedor or Mousasi or Babalu (the three I want to see in the UFC the most). Here's to hope though....
